Nemeth joins AEK Athens on loan

It makes you wonder on the wisdom of letting him out on loan when we are somewhat devoid of scoring options on our bench. Had we had a credible option on the bench I would have said it was a great thing for the lad to get some experience.

Although I agree to an extent it's highly unlikely that he would've played any minutes so far had he lingered on.

Match experience like the one he's enjoying at AEK is very valuable and I'm sure it'll make him a better player.

You could argue whether we should've kept him instead of Ngog but I think I understand the reasoning behind it - as Ngog is far more like Torres in stature and position. The big, atheltic forward-type. Ish.

No but then again Torres has not pinged a hamstring yet,

I don't have high hopes for Nemeth.

He'd be a good striker in Italy I think, but not in England.

Why Italy?

It's a league full of strikers short of real pace or strength like Del Piero, Gilardino, etc. topping the chart.

I might be wrong though.

But as you say, you don't watch the reserves, so you've got very little to base an opinion on.

I remember someone on here a while ago saying they'd seen Nemeth a number of times playing for the ressies and comparing him (in playing style at least) to a young Robbie Fowler, who wasn't the quickest or the strongest either. I wouldn't write the lad off yet.

Hahaha, some of this is absurd. He has looked the boy most likely to for a while now, and starts getting rave reports for his performances in Greece, and people still shrug.
He has had a couple of injury ravaged seasons, give the lad some credit.
It seems sometimes that no one wants the lads to come through.
Give them a decent chance if they look like it, great, if not get shut.

regards

I just don't think he'd get the game time if he was here.

They'll be time left for him yet to break through and I think it's good for him to go somewhere and get a full season under his belt.

It's good he's doing well in Greece, I don't think that equates to it being a missed opportunity for us.

Don't worry guys, we are buying Hines in January - he played well against us.

When the Crow goes I hope we don't replace him and use the kids. When our defense gets more solid we will see more attacking youth on the bench and getting into games.
