He'll bang shed loads of goals in for a team that'll finish in the top 4 and hopefully get a bit of European action... Good luck to him and he'll come back stronger next year.

They never come back, stronger or otherwise.

Simon is utter poo. I hope he never comes back.

Heh yeah, he is a bit of a donkey.

I'm disappointed because I think he's a much cooler finisher than N'gog (who I rate much more than some here), and is more creative around the box than El Zhar. I think he could have been an option for us this season.

I tend to agree Doc. I would have thought it entirely possible Nemeth might have shown more than N'gog has so far

Agree with both of you. Maybe Pacheco will get his chance instead.

Agree with a lot of people on here. We have to start blooding some of these youngsters / reserves we've invested heavily in. The Academy is pointless otherwise

People tend to forget that Insua is actually an Academy-player who has made the grade. Spearing's another who's at least sniffing around the first team at times. Ayala did a decent job against Spurs under extremely difficult conditions too.

It's not all bad and although I'd love to see a few more players make the grade I'm sure we're heading for a bright future when it comes to the youth-appartment.

Players such as Pacheco, Amoo, Ince, Buchtmann, Nemeth, Saric, Bouzanis, Kacaliknic, Bruna, Dalle Valle, Eccleston and Steven Irwin are all capable of making the grade if they can uphold their good progress and enjoy a bit of good faith (staying clear of bad injuries etc).

I can't remember a time with us having so many hot prospects for the future running around at Melwood. I know we've all been disappointed before - especially during the 'French-gem' years, but we have to remember that it's an extremely difficult task to unearth players from such a young age and make them good enough to play for a club such as Liverpool.

Florent Sinama-Pongolle is a very good example of this in my opinion. He's not at all a bad player and he's actually enjoying some success in La Liga, not at Real, but still. He wasnt' good enough but that doesn't mean he isn't a good player and he was a good shout to bring in at the time.

No one knows the future but I'm positive we'll see a handful of the current crop make the grade over the years.

Yeh khl but Insua is but one out of casts of hundreds that's emerged. OK Ayala's playing a bit part as well at the moment but what I'm saying is we need to see more. Like we did when Owen, Gerrard, Fowler, Redknapp, Carra cam through

Had a good debut by all accounts

as an aside... how crap does that league look? I reckon I could've gotten a starting berth in that game and looked good... and I haven't kicked a ball for years!

Nemeth makes a decet start on his debut. Thankfully it looks like he will be starting allot of games and will come back a better player - everyone who has seen him has said there is something special about him.

i saw a clip of his debut and he got 1 assist and should have had another 3 if the other striker knew how to shoot

Makes you wonder why N'Gog and especially Voronin are ahead of him.

Because he's a senior player and able to take more responsibilty

From the Greek Press:

Drunkenly happy! A pun on his name.

Judging Greek football from a youtube link may not be fair but the standard looks very bad. Declaring him world class might be a tad premature. Although maybe that was a tongue in cheek remark? I'm terrible at reading tone from text. Perhaps the forum could collaborate in the use of those fantastic smilies a little more for my benefit.

Anyway, nice work from young Nemeth. I like him.

I really hope he sets fire to that league, and then we bring him back in January (is that possible?) so he can score loads in the PL. Unrealistic perhaps, but I've always thought Nemeth looked class.

Brilliant defending for the nutmeg. Nemeth could probably have got away with running between his legs after the ball.

I really hope this lad comes good after all the promise he's shown.

that is such a tidy finish. One look up, one placed shot, keeper with no chance.

This kid could make it ... I just hope it's with us.

I would love for him to make it, but when was the last time a young striker with no pace or strength made it big time?

He relies so much on his finishing ability, which reminds me a lot of Derbyshire, who I thought had real potential but failed to make it big time.

I don't get why Nemeth has no pace or strength ... and I think your example is harsh on Robbie !

That was a Fowleresque finish. One glance up and hits it early.

I really wish we'd kept him and loaned N'gog (although I do like Wash).

I don't anymore ... Even though this is a poor league (or so it seems), he's a) getting starts every game (fantastic experience) for one of the biggest clubs there and b) will soon be playing in their Europa League fixtures too. Hopefully a big season will have him bristling with confidence and ready to be our #3 option next year ... I still think he will make it.

I'm convinced he'll be a top player, but I worry that it won't be for us.

I think that for some reason Pacheco is the great white hope. Nemeth's decision making and coolness in the final third is exceptional for a young player, and I'm not sure, despite his obvious gifts, whether Pacheco will ever have that.

Yup, he's got something you just can't teach ...
