Agree with a lot of people on here. We have to start blooding some of these youngsters / reserves we've invested heavily in. The Academy is pointless otherwise

People tend to forget that Insua is actually an Academy-player who has made the grade. Spearing's another who's at least sniffing around the first team at times. Ayala did a decent job against Spurs under extremely difficult conditions too.
It's not all bad and although I'd love to see a few more players make the grade I'm sure we're heading for a bright future when it comes to the youth-appartment.
Players such as Pacheco, Amoo, Ince, Buchtmann, Nemeth, Saric, Bouzanis, Kacaliknic, Bruna, Dalle Valle, Eccleston and Steven Irwin are all capable of making the grade if they can uphold their good progress and enjoy a bit of good faith (staying clear of bad injuries etc).
I can't remember a time with us having so many hot prospects for the future running around at Melwood. I know we've all been disappointed before - especially during the 'French-gem' years, but we have to remember that it's an extremely difficult task to unearth players from such a young age and make them good enough to play for a club such as Liverpool.
Florent Sinama-Pongolle is a very good example of this in my opinion. He's not at all a bad player and he's actually enjoying some success in La Liga, not at Real, but still. He wasnt' good enough but that doesn't mean he isn't a good player and he was a good shout to bring in at the time.
No one knows the future but I'm positive we'll see a handful of the current crop make the grade over the years.
