It's quite interesting seeing the scummers views on it via redcafe - they don't half have some deluded fuckwits over there. The level of injury to Nani seems to grow exponentially according to some. 'Deep Gash' , 'Massive deep gash' 'Deep gash where you can see his shin bone sticking out' - Now they all think there is a fair chance it will get infected (for some reason)

It was a red card mind 😉

It was well worth a red card to see the fanny act like he did..... Whenever a Manc approach you in the next three decades you can allways ask him: "Where were you when Nani cried at Anfield?"

Back from the dead

The Portugal winger was not expected to be back until after the international break.

He suffered a gashed leg following a challenge by Jamie Carragher in the defeat by Liverpool last week.

Ferguson said following United's training session on Monday: "There's a good chance (Nani) will be involved. He and Michael Carrick trained on Sunday. Both will be involved tomorrow."

Carrick and Michael Owen were also in attendance at Monday morning's training session, following calf and knee injuries, with United tomorrow looking to build on a 0-0 first-leg draw against the French champions.

There was also a surprise appearance by Hargreaves, whose career has been blighted by injury.

He trained away from the main group, as did Park Ji-sung, who has had a hamstring injury.

However, there was no sign of Rio Ferdinand, who has a calf problem, or Darren Fletcher, who has been suffering from a virus.

Anderson, Jonny Evans, Anders Lindegaard and Nemanja Vidic were also absentees from the training ground

So after all those hysterics, from both him and Fergie, he's okay.

Good team for him to be coming back against, hopefully one of their lads boots him right on the same spot.

Will he cry again?

I think i read somewhere that when this was all going on , Rooney walked away in disbelief , laughed and was heard saying to some of the liverpool players "he's fuckin' cryin'" . I mean for fuck sake , has any other pro or boy above 13 cried when injured , ok maybe a serious leg snap incident but this was ridiculous . If this was "Saving Private Ryan" he'd be that fool who lets the German lad go ...and if this was "Shaving Ryan's Privates" then he'd be ...well you get the picture.

It would be a nice added bonus.

Football bias aside i think it is ridiculous to risking Nani with a run out so soon after the horrific assault he suffered last week, it took both the hospital surgeon and Uniteds own medical team to sew him back together again surely rushing him back before the end of the month long recovery period is up is just asking for trouble? What if he gets kicked again? His leg might just snap in two and their are precious few flair players of Nani's quality left in the league ..... i don't know i think it's a desperate gamble with the future footballer of the year by Sir alex ..... i dread to think what might happen.

It definitely is a risk factor jules ..... dreadful to think what bacteria may be lurking out there on the pitch .... he get Weills disease if hes not careful.

At the time of the tackle, I couldn't see any shin guards, the following day in the papers i couldn't see any shin guards.

Was he actually wearing them or was it the standard sheet with a bit of tape jobby? If so, what does he expect, it would have heard regardless but he'd be minor a gash.

The axe-wound.

Nani still livid over tackle

Scum winger Nani has launched a furious attack on Jamie Carragher over the tackle which left him with an ugly gash on his leg.

Carragher sent an apology into the United dressing room immediately after Liverpool's 3-1 win at Anfield on March 6 and then waited to offer his personal remorse for a challenge that forced Nani to be stretchered off. But the Portugal star was having none of it.

He had not forgotten it was a previous Carragher challenge on him that sparked an injury that eventually forced him to miss two months of last term and, speaking for the first time about the challenge, the winger said: "I don't know what Carragher was thinking but I do know what he did was not football."

He added: "He came to apologise after the game. But I was not happy. It is the second time he injured me. Before he put me out of the game for two months. He always tackles like that. I don't want protection. I just want the referees to be fair. If it is a red card, they have to give it. If they give the card, the next time the player doesn't make the tackle."

Although he took a rather theatrical fall after initially getting to his feet to remonstrate with Carragher, once Nani saw the wound that had opened, he was certain his season was at an end. It was that knowledge rather than the pain, which caused the 24-year-old to burst into tears in a rather surprising display of emotion.

"When I saw my leg for the first time, I thought my season was finished," he said. "That is why I was crying.

"Afterwards, the doctor saw my leg and said I had been lucky because it just needed stitches and I would be out for two or three weeks. He is surprised that I could recover even quicker."

Nani has been the subject of speculation that he might be looking to leave Old Trafford in the summer and the rough treatment he receives on the pitch may be a factor in that. Fellow countryman Cristiano Ronaldo was fond of complaining flair players were often targeted in the Premier League and Nani accepts the risk of injury is high.

"English football is like that. It is about making tackles," he said. "The fans enjoy it.

"I played against Marseille but maybe I couldn't play tomorrow because I have so many injuries. I always finished the game sore because I have had three or four tackles on the same part of my ankle."
