How did he go from a Radio One DJ, who like football, to getting one of the biggest football jobs in broadcasting?

He's crap, and way too bias. Most of the presenters try to keep it neutral, as they should. The Liverpool fans hate him cos he's annoying, and all other fans will hate him cos he supports Liverpool.

Great choice BBC.
 
Sorry doc, I find him incredibly annoying (and I'm not talking about his voice). I used to watch the poker when he was hosting it and he made me want to throw my shoe at the TV.

How many of them aren't crap though Anita? Geoff Stelling is IMO as good as it gets but after him there's not a lot of good presenters out there.
 
I bet lovejoy is gutted. He'll keep having to pretend his little saturday cooking show is a football programme. Bless.
 
I'd have preferred Gabby Logan. Or the formula 1 guy, but I guess he's busy.
 
Oh, the mention of Lovejoy reminded me of that other div on Soccer AM now, where the hell did they find him? He's actually worse than Colin Murray. Yeah, I said it, *worse* than Murray.
 
I wonder is there anyone that would be acceptable to everyone.

Personally I think they should just show the football, then we could discuss it ourselves and not have to worry about the presenter being biased against Liverpool, biased towards Liverpool, having crap accents, crap voices and fuck knows what else.

Y'see I find Lineker too bland. I think Murray has some rough edges but I reckon he'll turn into a top presenter when he tries a bit less hard to impress.

Oh I really like Lineker. Informing my twelve year old cousin a couple of years back that Lineker was England's leading striker at one point and wasn't just the 'presenter' with him thinking I was winding him up was a moment of realistion though; to a whole generation he's now just the guy who does the Walkers Ad's and presents MOTD.
