Mo Salah- he's world class

The goal against Everton was probably Salah's best yet – not finishing a team move, but creating every bit of it all by himself. I think this was what was stopping me from comparing him to Suarez or Torres, because he was more of a finisher than creator earlier in the season. Now he is being marked more heavily, but so far he's managed to continue scoring even when instead of a tap-in he now needs to beat 3 players to put the ball in the back of the net. If he continues this form, we've got ourselves a super-star, if not, he is just a good player.

He’s had the best goal scoring start to a Liverpool career than any other for over half a century hasn’t he?
That to me is not just ‘a good player’, whether he beats 3 players for a goal or not.

Yes, he did, but (though it may sound harsh) it's already in the past, isn't it? The question now is whether he will prove to be a player who permanently alters the balance in our favor, as genuine star players like Torres or Suarez did in their time, or is he someone who can be very effective under right circumstances, but ultimately will be found out and mitigated to some extent by the opposition? As much as I like Salah, the jury is still out for me on that last hurdle – but so far he's meeting the challenge.

If his movement, workrate, skillset and speed makes him ‘just a good player’, you must consider most players to be ‘just a shit player’.

I get what the others are saying. There are certain players who like Torres/Suarez you could stick up front and you just know thay will do some shit. With Mo...you know he will do shit but not on the same scale yet.

Can't classify him as world class after half a season. Has to deliver for at least 2 seasons so we know he's not a one season wonder. I remember some of the goals Cisse scored for Newcastle in his first season were out of this world and then promptly flopped the next season. Not comparing him to Cisse but you get my point. Many players have looked great for one season, its after that when you really see how good they are.

He'd had 2 fab seasons for Roma/ Udinese (and Basel before that). Do they not count or only seasons in the PL?

So are you ready to equate him to Suarez and Torres in his prime already?

I was prepared to call Torres world class the moment he scored his first goal against Chelsea. It was clear we had just got a player from the top table. Equally Suarez when he bamboozled the Utd defence to provide the easiest of goals for Kuyt in his first season. Sometimes you just know. It's like love.

Im just going on how i personally judge world class....not sure what the official definition is meant to be. No way would anything done in a Swiss league make you world class, the same way if you did great in the french or dutch league IMO. Italian league is debatable though. Edin Dzeko is tearing it up in Serie A and i wouldn't call him brilliant personally.

If you don't just recognise him as being world class you deserve to be padlocked within the cunt's playground with all the cunts. And then nuked from orbit.

‘I think a world class player has to prove it in the international stage and win a World Cup with his country’

*presses button dementedly*

Neither of those leagues carry much weight anymore.

England, Germany and Spain is really the bench mark.

I'll repeat, if you don't just look at him and realise he's world class, then it is your problem. He played great there, and he's doing so now here. It isn't his fault of the Italian league isn't amazing. It is still not an easy league to score goals in. It isn't like the Dutch league or summat.

As we all know, only the goals you score in the Premier league counts. Just ask Bobby Firmino and Brendan.

Actually I thought it was only the goals scored against title contenders that really count, otherwise you are only a flat track bully like Suarez.

(FYI - he played for Fiorentina and Roma)

I want to win the Premier League more, obviously.
As it was a decade ago, I think it's easy enough to conclude that with what we have, a good CL run, maybe even winning it, is far more likely than a premier league title.
Even with a young Owen up top in this team, I doubt we'd win the league. We're just not there yet.

Thus it makes sense to value the contribution made by players in the CL. Well it should be anyway, but in our case especially.

14 EPL goals as of today, 20 in all comps. So far world-class numbers, certainly. He keeps grinding-out his goals.

Hes pure class. Is there a forward in the world in better form?

He shifts the ball so fucking quickly in the box, its frightening. Ive seen Robben comparisons floating about.... so yeah, i guess he is like a non-cunty Arjen Robben

Although was Robben ever this clinical?

He is. That's a very good description actually.

His performance yesterday was pretty reminiscent of Robben. He shifted the ball to the left and made space to shoot twice before he scored doing exactly the same thing. On each occasion the defender was left absolutely helpless.
