from a poster on another site. I personally think 4th is done but...

If united beat City and chelsea beat spurs, we will be 6 points behind city and 5 behind spurs. If we beat West Ham it will be then down to 3 and 2.

The following week Spurs are away to United and City away to Arsenal, so if they do not manage to win their, it will be down to three with even games.

We then play Burnley away the day after and if we win, we would go joint fourth with a game more played.

The following weekend, City host Villa and Spurs host Bolton with us hosting Chelsea. We would without a doubt have to win and hope at least City don't win.

Then on the wednesday, City and Spurs play eachother so more points will be dropped.

The final day City will be away to west ham, we will be away to hull and spurs away to burnley who are all fighting relagation.

If we will our last four we will go close. Not sure we will but it is still possible with City and Spurs next two games.

well, quite especially as we seem to be the ones dropping points and the teams above us winning.

Arsenal need to spend a fucking fortune on that defence.

Clichy's fucking rubbish.
Sagna for all the adulation, can't defend very well either. Arsene gave him the shepherd's hook tonight after that abysmal effort for Spurs' 2nd goal.
Gallas, Silvestre, and big Sol are all out of contract this summer.
And Almunia's shite too.

They've got Vermaelen, and even his positional play leaves a lot to be desired.
Mate, over 34 games they've let in 3 more goals than us while scoring an extra 22 - all without their best striker for almost the entire season. If Van Persie had been fit for as many games as Torres has been I dare say Wenger would be preparing his acceptance speech for Arsenals title season.

I'll second the comments of others in the thread that when Van Persie came on he looked head and shoulders the best player on the pitch. That volley would have been in "goal of the week" calcs if not for an equally stupendous save.
Goalscoring hasn't been their problem mate. Having a back four and keeper that's got butchered by the top clubs has killed them.

I'd be stunned if Arsene doesn't prioritise that area over the summer and strengthen significantly.
I'd be stunned if he does Ryan. They've needed a backbone and/or some experience for years and the stubborn cunt has gone for everything but.

As I mentioned mate; 3 of their central defenders are out of contract this summer. Gallas might get a new one, might. Silvestre and big gay Sol shouldn't. that leaves him with Vermaelen, and Djorou - who's been out all season injured. He simply has to find replacements.

As for the goalkeeping situation; Almunia, Mannone, Fabianski. Well if he persists with that triumverate of gash, then he's absolutely lost the fucking plot. He could play all three of them in goals at one time, and they'd still ship goals.

Yeah I've no doubt he'll buy replacements, I'll just be surprised to see him opt for experience/proven quality. More likely France/Spains/wherevers best young footballing centre back-cum-midfielder and a Scandinavian seven footer who's clumsy as fuck.
Well he spent 10M on Vermaelen, and 8M on Sagna within the last year or two so I'm sure he'll spend if he thinks they're worth it.

My Arsenal mate say's they haven't had a good defender since Sol Mk1.

Yeah I was gonna mention as much before, he added Sol to that brilliant old school defence and then gradually replaced it with inferior players, to the point where it's now the mess it is today. I've never really been a big fan of Gallas either. Toure had a stella first season but then went downhill aswell.

Toure had a very good season in the middle of his Arsenal career as well I think. Either way, they must have been stunned to receive that 16M bid from City.

Arsenal are plagued with injuries, but even so, their approach has been so frustratingly typical for them this whole game, with no plan B.

On the upside you get to watch Rosicky and Nasri dribbling sideways a lot, in a completely pointless manner, before playing a two foot pass into a thicket of legs surrounding a completely static Bentner.

Spurs have been very solid defensively, but otherwise it's Arsenal's lack of focus, and improvised CB pairing that has cost them the two goals.
But...but....Bendtner is a good player, people KHL has said so.

And I am quite

Wait for it....

Your mates talking rubbish, no harm to him.

Didn't catch the game last night, thankfully. Absolutely gutted though. We've thought for a while now the league was gone but we kept getting false hope from somewhere. Wengers cost us big time. Liverpool came into the season weaker as did United whilst Chelsea stayed the same. 2 or 3 quality additions in the summer or even in January and it would have been ours.

The squad simply isn't good enough. Players like Denilson, Diaby, Almunia, Bendtner should not be playing first team football week in week out. It's criminal.

And you are not?

How can a player who's scored you 9 goals and created 8 assists in his last 11 games not be deemed good enough to start week in week out?

Weird comment.

Yes, Bendtner is fucking amazing, one of the best strikers in England and should be guaranteed a starting place in a title winning team.

Hear any more about Arshavin N'gooner?

I was talking to an Arsenal fan at work and while initially he did say that there was alot of talk of Andrei leaving that changed a little bit later to it being all bullshit.
You can imagine how shocked I was!

Haven't heard anything else mate, other than someone on an Arsenal forum saying he'd heard we were getting rid and replacing him with some 19 year old french kid, cant remember his name though.

I think he'll be an Arsenal player next season, but i wouldn't be at all surprised if he wasn't!

Looked pretty good when he played against us in the recent match against Lille.

No doubt some of the other lads on here will be able to give you a more educated appraisal of his ability.

He looked OK but nothing special, not from I saw anyway. Truth is it was hard to tell how good any of them were, we played that poorly.
