Midweek CL Games

Mourinho basically blamed the defeat on "2 left-backs playing centre-back." I think it's time to stop looking for some three-dimensional chess in his words and just admit that he simply cannot help himself, looking for excuses and destroying his players' motivation and confidence in the process. United's squad is not particularly cohesive, but there is certainly enough quality there to put together a workable first 11. It's primarily the manager's fault if it's not working.

Yeah. It's not like there isn't a decent squad to work with.

Hopefully this will get worse and therefore funnier

Van Dijk looks quite good – very tall and strong, reasonably quick, comfortable with the ball... I would be happy with him and Matip as our first-choice CB pair.

Hoijbjerg on the other hand is rather meh – sure, there is some talent there, but would he get into our midfield ahead of Hendo, Can, Wijnaldum etc? No chance.

I just want a player you love, from whatever country, to be a player I love too

I only liked Agger. I need more. Much more
This is happening.

He'd court you all immensely with extreme amounts of well-taken, otherworldly goals and a baby-like face.

He's excellent. Should have signed him when he moved from Celtic. If we want him now we'll have to pay there times what they paid.

Hojbjerg on the other hand is talented but not really what we need at the moment.

I kinda agree. Højbjerg needs to play more regularly in the PL and keep on improving there too. He got voted their player of September mind and I also think he looked pretty decent tonight. However similar to Can in some areas and maybe even more so than what I initially thought so yeah, we are not as much in a hurry here I guess.

Van Dijk looks very, very good.

RedCafe is a fun place to be right now. The ugly reality is starting to set in, although half of them are still trying very hard to ignore it. One or two people already questioning where it would have been better with Giggs at the helm. The consensus seems to be to give Mou another season even if they finish outside the top-4 (which looks increasingly likely), but they are starting to worry that "Jose lost it."

Almost had two to his name when he scored this one late 1st half. He is like jinking past defenders for fun and he is a constant goal threat everywhere. In the box, outside of it, in the air.

Got it all it seems. Very audacious too.

So, let's try to buy a potential world class super hyped teenager for once..

WOW!

Those pipes should be insulated and boxed in ASAP, unless you're stealing your overhead neighbours 'fjärrvärme', then, cyber 'fist bumps'.

I can't work out Luke Shaw at all

God knows what Mourinho thinks

Super result. Heh

He's just woefully unfit. I don't think he's one of these naturally fit blokes to begin with, but 18 months (odd) of leg breaks and knee injuries have just compounded that.

I actually think when fit, he'd be the best left back in the league.

Yeah, that's partly it. Also, even when he is fit, he still doesn't *look* it. You know what I mean, and I don't think that helps either.

But it's also his overall game. I've watched him a few times and he just doesn't seem as quick or decisive as he used to (or I imagined he was).

He made one great run forward in the City game, but he was totally befuddled and all over the place whenever Navas went anywhere near him, he looked pedestrian and positionally poor.

Shaw was never a finished article. Man U bought potential, so we basically never saw Shaw at his so called best. One or two injuries later and we're still waiting.
It's like us and Ings to a lesser degree.
