Midfielders other than Bellingham

The game did become unstructured, and I don't disagree that in the second half we didn't have the control we would like. I just completely disagree with the characterisation of the cause of all this as being that our midfield was 'bummed'. Because that's just not true.

I thought we got bummed still.
Less bummed than Real Madrid second half, Man City away second half, Brighton away second half, Wolves away second half but stil bummed all the same in my eyes. Hopefully less bummed or hammered away next game…

I think they want him to sign a deal with £80 million release next year. No release in the current deal but that expires in 2025. So wait two years and get him on a free.

I’m thinking we do get him this summer. He will win the league with Dortmund and leave a legend.
I checked the schedule for both Dortmund and Bayern. On paper neither have any games they shouldn't win (Bayern at H to Leipzig the toughest) so 5 on the bounce for Dortmund to win it. But we know how that can go - just look at Arsenal.

If he wins the league there, what else there for him to do? He can’t top that as they have zero chance in the champions league.

I really think this is just the media dance they are doing. Dortmund make out they tried to keep him. We say we aren’t oil rich and know our limits. A compromise is reached and off the player goes. I think Dortmund’s MO is take these low-ish risk punts and sell themselves as a club who won’t stand in a players way. They have a plan like they did with Haaland. If they don’t do that with Bellingham they risk not having future signings with that same promise.

I agree with this, I think it is a media dance, as I also believe that Dortmund need to show some level of resistance about selling their best assets. From everything that everyone has read, and even all the youtube channels with "alleged" sources - all saying his first choice is Liverpool, and based on all the world cup pictures and that gay picture of him and Trent - there is an element of truth in all that. I love the idea of a threesome in our midfield of Curtis, Bellingham and Trent. Three absolute top quality ballers with potentially every move in their locker. Next season will be amazing, and if it means we sign Mount as well then so be it.

You also have to admit, that is one of the best looking midfields of any team in world-football - all four would be pin-ups - we would have a large female following at this club.

They have to balance that with trying to compete for the title when they actually have a chance. Trying to keep him for one more season isn't totally unreasonable either but I see less reason for Jude himself to stick around.

On a side note, imagine if they'd kept Haaland one more season instead of having Haller (who missed the first half due to cancer treatment).

Funnily enough, it did remind me of a pre signing Naby video back in the day.

I’d hope that’s as far as any similarity goes.
We're not buying him, so I hope he does turn out to be shit.
I would much prefer someone of the profile of Thuram or Kone, physically more imposing, faster, and taller.
