We want to play through balls but don't have the forward players to run onto them. I noticed Lambert didn't really gamble much either - too static.
Anyways, bring on Suso for Markovic.
I'd happily say that Lallana was our best player if he really was. I see him trying but he's mostly just giving the ball away.

besides the two shots that got us the goal in the 1st ten minutes, have we got ONE shot on goal? Forced the keeper into ONE save?
Extra time approaching ... and Sterling will probably play 30 minutes ... but play him against Villa? Nah.
I know what's causing it.
Last season we had suarez dragging defenders everywhere. When he didn't play we had sturridge & sterling/countinho running defenders ragged.
That energy, & unpredictability made it easier for the team to roll over teams, this season we have just sterling alone from that combination, it's not enough.
Maybe once ballotelli, Markovic, are settled in & playing with sturridge at the top we'll look as dominant, don't think that'll come for a fair while though.
Our attacking play has been dismal so far this season. With the exception of the Spurs game.

Spurs game - great opening goal, penalty and one great individual goal ... We weren't great there either.
