Agreed; though I'd point out it's the centrebacks who've really shined, while Carra has done well and also gotten lots of help from Kuyt and Spearing/Lucas. Not impressed with Johnson's defending today. Looked lazy at times.

Don't think Suarez injury was serious at all. Two weeks until the next game and he'll probably be ready for it.

Good game all around. Our defence played extremely well. Shame Carrolls header didn't go in, but he'll get a goal soon enough.

Today would have nicely lined up as a 4231, with Meireless in behind, Kuyt to the right, Suarez left and Carroll up top. Lucas and Spearing deep.

Yeah, he was excellent actually. Looked a totally different player from the one who had a mare in last season's game at Sunderland.

433 would have left us a man short in the middle of the park, and we would have gotten overrun IMO
