I think this is being blown up out of proportion. We're supposed to believe that all these games were fixed using a network of hundreds/thousands of people over years for a paltry 6.9m profit. There's much more profitable crime out there for much less hassle and with less risk.

As if anyone is going to go to the trouble of fixing over 400 matches across Europe for 6.9m. That's ludicrous. Imagine the logistics, effort, numbers of people etc required to carry something like that off. For 6.9m? Not likely. You'd want to see 690m for something that vast.

Tbf, the reports aren't saying that. They say hundreds of games are under suspicion, but they only have evidence of £6.9m, and that they believe it to be "the tip of the iceberg".
