Not at all. Masher is one of my 4 untouchables (Pepe, Masher, Stevie, Fernando). Whereas Xabi is excellent, I'd be devestated if we lost Masher.
Both midfielders are untouchables for me and I don't want us to lose either of them. I don't think comparisons and debates as to who is more important lead anywhere. They're different players who give us different qualities. Last season, on the whole, Alonso was more influential. That's not to say Masher is less important.

Pointless though this is I pretty much agree with Hardcastle, but I think Benitez would sooner lose Xabi than Mascherano.
The defensive midfielder is a key weapon in his bid for control of games and in Javier we have the very best.
