Martin O' Neil Set To Manage Liverpool

Status
Not open for further replies.
MON is above Rafa this season Asbo.

I don't think anybody is really in favour of bringing in MON, they just understand that much like Robbie Fowler's 20 goals a season days, Rafa's trophy winning days are all in the past.

can't we have both O'neil and rafa like the Evans and Houillier show.

O'neil's teams are great before xmas and shit after and Rafa's are shit before and ace in the new year.

Sorted !!

I find it amazing that so many are only prepared to listen to one or two names when potential replacements for Rafa are bandied about... I hear "would not be an improvement" a lot.

Did any of you notice where we finished last season? The lifeless, uninspired dross the team trotted out for much of the season? The harrowing body language displayed by our biggest stars on the lap of honor?

How can so many of you simply dismiss names who have done better with far less like this? This isn't May 25th 2005 Rafa we're talking about... It's May 2007 - Present Rafa, and that a VERY different manager. I don't think names like MON or RH would be a step down at all from what we've watched for almost all but five months of the previous three years or so.

Like the stock market warns us, past results are no indication of future results.

I hope someone else goes in for the pikey cunt before we have a chance.
He's not a pikey.

I don't see him as an improvement on Rafa in the slightest, but he's hardly a pikey, and I don't see any reason to call him that actually.

I can't stand him, but still think he would be a better manager. I think he has got more out of his team this year than Rafa has out of his

regards

As have about 15 other Premiership managers
Well 6 at least... 😉

I wonder if Inter, Juve and Real are monitoring MON's situation?
Hahahahaha! Nice one centurion!

I am on the verge of wanting anyone rather than Rafa. Can I just say yes?
If you like.

I quite like him as a man and rate him as a manager. I'd rather have him in charge next season than Benitez, but whether he is good enough in the long term I am not so sure.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'd rather keep Rafael.
I wouldn't.

At least MON's team would show some emotion.

I'd rather anyone and I mean anyone ahead of Rafa at the moment and can't believe some want him to stay if we won't get the very best to replace him.

I don't get the Martin O'Neill hate...is it because of the Barry saga? or did I miss something?!

It's the trackies.

Would he?

We'd all want him out after half a season cos he plays shit football, and he's not a great man manager, and ....

I think that's more cos of emotional ties to us Dreamy. Speaking to Villa fans, they say watching them is just as bad.

Fair enough, maybe I just want pacey wingers so much that that has overshadowed it.

I'd love young and aboglahoursomething on our wings.

I thought the people of Liverpool would love that.

Ha!

I dont understand the anti O'neil fellings on here, hes a decent manager and i think hes quite an interesting personality. Hes a qualified barrister too so at least you know hes a fairly intelligent bloke.

I just want a manager to build a decent side and make sound team selections.

I have kind of a soft spot for O'Neil.. in a "as long as he's not our manager" sort of way.

he's intelligent, can be funny, likes doing his own thing and as Vlad says, does seem to be mentally unstable. That's what I like about him.

As a manger he has the ability to make shit teams over-perform into average teams.

I don't think he c0ould taker us any further forward than Benitez.

The only argument for retaining Benitez for next season is that we can't appoint a sucessor who, on the balance of probability, is likely to do a better job.

The only attraction to apointing manager like O'Neil & Hodgson would be the hope that they could get reasonable results from the curent squad with minimal investment.
