One of the top young talents on display in La Liga.

Supposedly - going by Spanish sources (Legit @rurikbird ?), we just had a 50 million euro bid rejected.

[article]Some big transfer news has broken in Spain on Thursday, via Cadena Cope and AS, who both report that Liverpool are keen on Real Madrid starlet Marco Asensio.[/article]

Probably bullshit, considering how highly he's rated by Zidane and Real Madrid, but it does raise an interesting question.

Should we be looking to sign Europe's young talents - who've yet to fully establish themselves in their respective teams (i.e. Asensio) or go for slightly older players who've already established themselves (i.e. Keita)?

It depends on the specific players but broadly speaking a mixture of both.

Juve did pretty well out of Morata.

He offered a load of energy when he came on against Bayern the other night but they were half shagged and down to 10 men at that point and even then goal and wilful running aside, he was pretty wasteful with the ball at his feet , given the circumstances

The first id ever seen of him and he looked alright but not £35m alright

[article]Real Madrid want to tie down one of their young stars, Marco Asensio. Half of Europe are keen on the former Mallorca player, who's still just 21, and offers have began to arrive for him.

According to Copa, Liverpool offered 50 million euros for the attacking midfielder, but Madrid turned down the proposal. Their stance is clear: Asensio is not for sale. Zinedine Zidane wants him in his squad next season no matter what.

In fact, Florentino Perez was willing to let him leave on loan again -- he was at Espanyol last season -- to play more minutes, but Zidane was against that idea. Now, the Madrid president is working on giving him a wage rise and a new release clause.

Asensio earns less than most players at Madrid, with a contract worth 1.5 million euros a season which runs until 2022.

He shone against Bayern Munich on Tuesday, as he did in the first leg, coming on for Isco this time and scoring the fourth goal of Madrid's thrilling win. [/article]

50mill on a winger?! With a dodgy keeper(s), no DM, short on CB's, a midfielder at LB, and no fit strikers. Makes sense.

If Coutinho is going to Barca, then £50 million on this lad would make sense.
Not a chance of it happening though.

[bcolor=initial][article]Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio is reportedly disappointed and frustrated with the lack of first-team action under Zinedine Zidane and is prepared to move elsewhere if the situation does not change, with [bcolor=initial]Diario Gol[/bcolor] reporting [bcolor=initial]the 21-year-old is happy to join Liverpool, Arsenal or Juventus.[/bcolor][/article][/bcolor]

There was a young man from Australia,
Who painted his bum like a dalia,
A penny-a-smell,
was all very well,
But tuppence-a-lick was a failure.
