Dont think their goal was offside either. Lovren was keeping Valencia onside.

Nah

I predict a long post about our defence, shite strikers and Firmino next. Get cracking Merson.

You're oddly offended about how right I am about things. You need me to balance out you being wrong about every single thing ever discussed ever

As for our defence, the lack of a clean sheet is no surprise given our poor defensive record, but I was very impressed with Lovren and Mignolet

We missed Mane obviously and it doesn't help when players like Origi are fucking abysmal

It was an OK result considering we were missing Matip, Clyne and Mané, and Coutinho isn't 100%. I think with everybody fit we would have pissed all over United.

Henderson just back from injury too. On the back of a midweek game (and defeat). As well as putting a halt to their 6 league games winning streak. I'll take that.

But were top scorers! Or were anyway. We've got loads of ace finishers!

Sorry. I'm a hysterical woman ruled by emotion instead of cold, rational logic. I still regret not appreciating how good downing was while we had him. Most assists in the league and all that.

Disagree at the tip of the 3 in midfield he needs to score more with these easy chances. Can see wini dropping deeper, he played well today minus the sloppy first finishing . Playing with hendo more and have lallana in at the tip when Phil starts
I know. I'm making snide points because I'm in a bad mood x

Fair result, they dominated us 2nd half.

We certainly looked like we lacked attacking players who could hold up the ball and find space until Coutinho came on.

We need to win a few on the spin now to have any chance of winning the league

Dunno how the demigod couldn't get the most expensive team ever to beat a team riddled with injuries and suspensions.

Can was much better than he has been in his last two or three games

He was, in the second half more so anyway. First half he gave away the ball alot.

Anyway, that just highlights again our lack of a cutting edge. A really good resiliant performance, but like I said months ago, in tight games where you need an extra bit of class and natural finishing ability, we were found wanting. You want someone you can rely one, because when chances are few and far between, they're falling to players who have a sketchy goal record - which was the difference again today betwen a draw and a win. It IS a problem and it's retarded to dismiss it. Yes we've set ourselves up well as an attacking unit, but when it's not completely functioning or we have a player or two missing, we look incredibly goal shy.

I'm not sure why I'm reiterating the point, but it's probably because people continue to get so offended by the notion of us trying to get even better. We've not the finshed article, yet.

Well, you're right of course, but we were missing our top scorer and with him in Africa and Sturridge not fit or in form, who can we look to?

We had Firmino and Origi in attack, and nobody expects goals from them

It's a shame that Wijnaldum made a mess of two good chances, but again, he hasn't looked a reliable source of goals since he arrived

Both managers were just interviewed on FiveLive and surely both were on the wind-up - Mourinho claimed we shut up shop after they scored and our Jürgen had a moan about ManUre's long ball stuff which led to it.

There is nothing wrong with the long ball game, if that is the right tactic in the circumstances.

Didnt realize that we've played 12 away games and only 9 home games so far.
Just City away left from the top 8 for the rest of the season.

We're in a decent position to say the least.
Except all our losses and a couple of draws are against the bottom 12

1 point away against Man U is not too bad. Losing a lead due to an offside decision not so good.

Jurgen Klopp, speaking to BBC Sport: "A lot of people before the game would have thought we would get a knock today because United look like a rolling beetle and everything goes in their direction. We know about our problems and situations so seeing a performance like today was nice.

"We needed to be brave, we created the spaces we wanted, we scored the goal. In the end period of the game when United started playing long balls - Marouane Fellaini and Zlatan Ibrahimovic - after 80 minutes high intense football it is really hard. I hoped we would have a bit of luck, unfortunately not but all good. Tomorrow I can enjoy the result, but tonight only the performance.

"It is so intense. They play long balls, it was a wild game. There was a lot of action in the last few minutes. We were here to win the game which is why we we are not 100% satisfied."

Jose Mourinho, speaking to BBC Sport: "Very exciting, even for the non neutral - for Liverpool fans and our fans they were enthusiastic until the last seconds. I didn't think the game had super quality. We didn't reflect the qualities we have and Liverpool have but it was very emotional, intense, aggressive. We fought until the last second.

"They were clever. They took their time, they know how to play football and control the emotions of the game. They knew they would be in trouble in the final few minutes.

"We were the team that attacked and Liverpool were the team that defended. Let's see if the critics are fair. I enjoyed it but I will obviously be disappointed we didn't get the three points."

"The people need to know what Marouane Fellaini is great at and what he is not so good at. Marouane is very good in some aspects.

"I was looking to the pitch and only saw yellow shirts in the box. I thought it's difficult to penetrate so I thought we should go direct."
