Thats the kind of impact a good DM can have....while we plod around with Lucas.

This has been a position we improved on ths moment Masher left...yet we have failed to do so for more than t years.

Really? Schweinsteiger good at being a DM you say? FFS - You know hot chocolate is really good before bed right? Plank!

With a name like Schweinsteiger he could go on to become PM of the UK.

I would've loved it if we could have got Schweinsteiger. He has made the scum much much better.

We'd have played him right of a three-man centre-half setup.

Look, our biggest problem isn't the players although we could have done better with the money spent. It's that we play them in positions where they are not as effective and as a collective they're less than the sum of the parts.

He's not been that good - they've been better with Carrick there.

Not sure about that, old pal. Despite the fact that he plays deep, Carrick's defensive play actually isn't up to much. He's excellent running the game from back there, but that defence has benefited big-time from Schweinsteiger's presence in front of them. It's a bit like the situation at Chelski, where Terry - obv.a very good player in many ways - has really benefited from the likes of Makelele or Matic in front of him covering for his chronic lack of pace.

Fair point. Between the two of them they've been absolutely crucial to the Mancs' improvement IMO. I don't think that improvement would have been nearly as marked - if it took place at all - with just Carrick in there.

Either way the balance is good, the three of them are fairly resolute defending and they are all good on the ball. If you've got players like that it gives you a solid backbone.

Largely agree (I certainly don't think a DM is unnecessary, as Rodgers and some on here seem to). I don't rate Carrick defensively TBH, but with someone like Schneiderlin or Pigclimber alongside him he still looks the bizzo.

Has Sweinsteiger made that much difference?
I dont agree tbh. Schneiderlin has made a difference. I'd expect more from the Pigfucker

Maybe, I stopped watching them after they beat Soton 3-2 with 3 shots on target.
They've got so many flaws but LvG has some sort of lucky charm and they just keep getting results.

They'll beat Arsenal today aswell.

No comments on the Arsenal - Man U game, anyone? Schweinsteiger-Carrick duo got badly exposed for their lack of pace, Walcott and co. were running rings around them. Darmian got destroyed by Sanchez too.

Schweinsteiger has not been that good for Man Yoo, he's got no legs left and in combo with Carrick they cannot cover ground at all.

Most United fans I know have not been that impressed with Schweinsteigger so far.

Amazing how many of us idiots can see the benefits of a good DM in the modern game, and especially in this team, but someone paid millions to coach the team couldn't. Bizarre.
