So yeah way off
Not really it was one of those games where no one really really stood out, you will see a lot of combinations.

1. Henderson
2. Lallana
3. Mane

For me, but there are a clutch of players between 7 and 8 today. Henderson pulled the strings which was good to see.

Ha ha on 6CM it looks like I am the one way off. But Wijnaldum's contribution is always undervalued here (except when there's a thread about him). On Morse's MoM site Wijnaldum / Henderson / Milner & Lallana are all neck n neck.

  1. Wijnaldum – OK, he didn't have a goal or an assist, but they way he ran the game was magnificent, I think it was the best I've seen him play. Always so positive and managed to wriggle out of seemingly impossible situations with ease and elegance.
  2. Mignolet – probably slightly wrong position for the Stoke goal, but otherwise impeccable; was proactive and confident coming off his line, which was helpful as Lovren and Klavan somewhat struggled against the height and strength of Crouch and Walters.
  3. Could be almost anyone, but I'll go for Origi – a great pass to start the move for Lallana's goal and a sharp "assist" for the OG.
Surprised so many went for Henderson – I thought he had an uneven game, some very bad passes, but also a few good and positive plays as well. Thought Lovren and Milner didn't have the best of games either.

Henderson - He keeps improving, growing into his role as captain
Milner - What can I say about him - he's like that Energizer Rabbit who keeps running, giving 120% every game, and has so much experience and intelligence
Wijnaldum - Yet another effective game by Gini, who alongside Hendo makes our engine room tick

What in the actual fuck game were you watching?

His passing was mostly off, over hit, under hit.....1 or 2 outrageous passes. Mistimed few tackles. Definitely not a game that'll stand out as a game he influenced.

Stoke gifted us 3 of the 4 goals today, the OG... the back pass and Glen clearing it straight to Lallana.

I clearly thought Milner was MOTM followed by Origi.

As @The Nomad said further up the thread, it was an evening of mixed performances by all our players so it is not easy to pick the best three.

I think that on this particular MOM thread, everybody just picks the three best performances based on how they saw the match. I don't think it's appropriate to attack each others' nominations. 🙂

Do find the Henderson love in tonight really weird. It was the worst game he's had in ages. Considering we scored four it's kinda weird coz I don't think anyone played very well. If I had to pick the best I'd probs go with Wilhnaldjmund.

On Morse's MoM Lallana has run away with it (40 votes in) with Wijnaldum and Henderson battling it out for the runner'sup spot.

No problem with that, but when someone feels the need to point a performance out as "terrible", when he's gotten into a few peoples top three's, you can see why some have taken exception to it. If someone thinks he had a poor game, then fine. But there's a big difference between all of our players being a mixed bag yesterday and a player being labelled "terrible".

Lallana had a funny game for me last night. He was barely noticeable until he scored... And I remember thinking I'd rather that than seeing him everywhere and delivering nothing. Certainly ended up as one of the main men again.
