He's not our best midfielder bar Gerrard.

Stop typing such utter fucking shite.
I missed where it said that, but he has the ability to be our next best creative midfielder behind Gerrard. Who else is there? Lucas, Adam and Ming bring different qualities to the side.

It's pretty clear you don't rate the lad, but don't exaggerate the truth, we all know that Rafa struggled to get him into the team and Roy sent him on loan, I wouldn't put much emphasis on that though, it's not like either of them were infallible when it came to decision making. When he did play he showed he had quality, all this talk about him being too lightweight for Premiership is bollocks based on him being injury prone, when he came into the side he settled in after a couple of games and played well.
mark, it is based on him shitting out of tackles, which for a CM is a...problem.
When he came into the side under Rafa he ended up playing the advanced role, it's not an issue if the system is right. He's no more a shithouse than the likes of Garcia were and he certainly can't be any worse than Harry Kewell was on that note, we've got enough steel in the side for it to not be a major issue.
to be fair he is no worse than meireles in this regard.
Not to mention Maxi. I'm surprised that he doesn't get a mentioning in the shitting out of tackles-debate.

We don't need 11 dogs of war! Pass and move suits Aquilani...no- he would be a main reason to that. Why can't some of you see that? Or is pass and move not how you want us to play?

Our squad has about 50 midfielders but there isn't room for one creative player!? Astonishing.

Nobody's ever questioned Aquilani's suitability for that style of football. The questions about keeping him centre on other things altogether.

I'd like to keep him in our squad JJ "if" finances allows AND it doesn't come at the expense of Ming(under those circumstances we'd have nothing really to lose imo) , but i do wonder why in the age of inflated football transfer fees nobody is snapping him up for the reported asking price of £10-£14mil.

Because its a scam, you might think you're getting a bargain but it will end up costing you much more to build a team around him

Who are missing from the Asia tour?

Reina - coming back from surgery
Gerrard - same
Aurelio - ????
Johnson - ????
Degen - outcast
Suarez - semi's Copa America
Lucas - probably on flight back from Copa America
Jovanovic - outcast
Downing - recently joined

Anyone else?
Btw if Uruguay make the finals, Suarez will most definitely not play against Sunderland.

He'll be playing in the third place game at least anyway... he won't play against Sunderland.

Skrtel - apparently expecting a kid
Henderson - recently returned from u21s
Doni - recently signed
El Zhar - outcast
and then some kids who aren't remotely ready to be first team but people keep banging on about them anyway (Suso, Raheem etc.)

I think it's safe to assume he's injured

Came across this picture in facebook, awesome!

The stadium is 87,000 capacity. The only empty seats were the yellow ones which was priced higher. The rest were all taken. At least 80,000 strong. Imagine Anfield like that

It was a lot more than 80000,I'd say it was at least 85000.
People were squeezed in everywhere,I wouldn't be surprised if there were fans in the rafters.
Awesome sight to see, especially since I was there for the Mancs and the crowd didn't even compare

Need to remember that it was the first ever trip by Liverpool,I doubt we'd get that number regularly.Even Malaysian Premier League matches rarely touch even half that.

I'm sure Liverpool would pull larger gates than a local team regardless. I think if we went over there every other year we'd pull a big crowd.

Oh, we'd definitely pull in big crowds.

ONe nice fact I forgot to mention in the match report was the pricing structure. The most expensive tickets were about 80 pounds, but the cheapest ones went for about 12 pounds, which allowed huge numbers to go for the game. It should be noted that many thousands were unable to get tickets since they sold out so quickly. I myself have been stunned by the numbers attending especially in comparison with the Arse and Chelsea (Arse was poor, and I've no doubt the Chelsea game tomorrow will be woeful)

We Malaysians havent yet got the message that we're now a mediocre club which has to be realistic in targettting top players ;D

That's a great picture, Optimus.

I was actually probably just 30 feet to the right of the guy in glasses

Heard from my mate that the Chelsea training session only got about 10k fans around. Them plastic bandwagon fans.

When I tried to buy the tickets from Adidas stores, ours were sold out whilst Chelsea were still available even though theirs went on sale much earlier.

So, apart from people using this game as a battleground for opinions they likely formed a long time ago, I'm glad to see those who went loved it.

It's being mentioned because too many people have dismissed Liverpool as ancient history, and perhaps our demise has been greatly exaggerated.

If no one has dibs yet,cld someone put that photo up as my avatar?

I won't be able to see it for a while as my lappies down, but I'd be obliged. I'd do it myself, but I'm liable to activate Skynet or something
