Meireles is absolutely wasted on the wing, probably our worst player so far
 
Haha, how was that a penalty? Anyway, Adam scores from the spot, twice because he had to retake it. 0-1
 
We're desperately lacking width once again, our left side is nonexistent because Cole spends most of the time in the middle and Robinson doesn't go forward a lot. Adam has been playing very well nontheles but I expect him to be more efficient with a proper wide player in the side
 
We're playing with 5 (!) cms. And we probably have about 5 mord om the bench.

Cole has been descent. If Carroll was a bit faster Charlie Adams passing would be even better.
 
Good cross from Flanagan, Meireles free header from a tight angle straight into the keeper

I think that's a bit harsh on Jones Ossi. The free kick was perfectly placed.

I'm not impressed with Carroll at all. He looks slow and ponderous. A donkey.

I guess this is where our lack of pace gets shown up, he'll need to be played with the right balance around him otherwise we can prove fairly predictable and easy to defend against, as we've seen before.
 
things ive learnt from this game:

1) adam is better at tackling than i thought, but wastes a fair amount of balls with hollywood passes
2) carrolls fuckin shite, i know, early days, not match fit etc, but from the evidence so far he's shit, i just hope kennys not too bothered about his price tag to bench him if he needs to next season
3) cole keeps spinnin like a dreidel with the ball and giving it away
4) flanagan has looked off the pace, think after a few good games last season people have gotten a bit carried away with his abilities
5)mings anonymous out wide (knew that anyway)
6) the refs an lfc fan

The freekick was perfect but the placing of the wall wasn't. It was completely wrongly placed. The ball didn't go over the wall, it went beside the wall.
 
Things I'VE learned from this game.......

1. Its pre season and its about improving the fitness and conditioning of the players........and not for knee jerk reactions!

The evidence so far isn't enough to reach a reliable judgment on Carroll, and maybe you're the one who's getting carried away - after one half of one game - on the subject of Flanagan.
