Haha, definitely.

You know that if that image was panned out you'd be able to see Glenjo looking on longingly.

Yup class player.
Lets be honest we knew that already.
The important thing is how he gels with Gerrard and Carroll.

Its fucking exciting isnt it?

Joe cole is finished?
Sorry , did anyone clarify if cole was injured or just dropped tonight ? Pity , if he was on form / not passed it , we'd have some pretty skillful players with him , meireles , gerrard and suarez . Oh we'll the other 3 will more than do.
maybe joe cole was telling torres all about chelsea, and the club didn't appreciate his dimwittedness

LadyRed:
Ha, I posted in the match thread you wouldn't like him, SG, cos he was wearing orange boots!

I thought you meant Steven Gerrard.

I replied with a crack about Luis being offended by Stevie's luminous wife.
You quote poorly.

Hahaha. That just reminded me of Indiana Jones. Could have done with a comma though.
Glad that landed.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish: "We're all delighted with that result - and three clean sheets in a row is a great return. If you don't concede, you're always in with a chance of a win. Everyone's pleased for Luis [Suarez] too. He hasn't even trained with us yet but he showed what he's all about tonight and I can't wait to get working with him."

He hasn't even trained ! Legend in the making is he, Suarez.

Interesting to see if he plays just behind carroll or out wide in a 3 man attack . I hope he plays more centrally , already tonight you could see how good he is at dropping into the gaps ,getting turned and running at people . Guess he can do both , he was also drifting to the left and coming in on his right foot . I just don't think he'd be great fixed in a wide position , having to track back etc etc .

can't wait to see suarez and carrol link up.

tough break on n'gog, two strikers and kuyt have jumped ahead of him in the pecking order. sucks to be you, david.

I agree. Though one of the cheers of the night was when he tracked back and won the ball.

it's good to see that he is not bothered by tracking back though, he seemed to it a lot in his youtube videos and tonight he tracked back and stole quite a few balls from stoke as they tried to build up attacks from the back toward the end of the game.

great little moment that

Yeah I think it's clear Kenny doesn't fancy Ngog at all. He's given a few of the youngsters a chance, the fact that he hasn't featured apart from the 15minutes against Utd is pretty damning. Most of us were expecting him to start today, I don't see much of a future for him here anymore tbh.

It was always too early for N'Gog to get such a big role as he got early this season. I'd like to have him loaned out somewhere and see how he does.

No , no , I agree on the tracing back, it's says alot about his character , great to see . I just don't want him fixed out wide , I think he can be great playing in and around Carroll with the freedom to roam left or right , drop into the gaps and link everything up .

'meh' I'd rather see raheem or suso take his place on the bench. an exciting youngster to change the balance of the game if things are going tits up.

I think it's evident that Kenny does not like players who are missing a brain.
Too much like Brendan?

Seriously, it seems like every player that's been shunned or barely featured are players with shoddy tactical awareness, decision making etc (Brains)

Babel
Konchesky
Ngog
Cole?
Did I miss someone

I wouldn't worry mate, he hasn't been given the number 7 shirt to be stuck out wide. Kenny knows where the number 7 is best deployed.

This...

Today he was trying to get Luis involved in the play as much as he can. I really think Gerrard deserves a lot of credit for Torres's success as a player. Let's face it, Torres has only ever played that well and looked that good for Liverpool, with Gerrard feeding him. His performance in Spain and for Spain makes him a 20m player, but i wouldn't be calling him the best striker in the world based on that.

I also remember how desperate he was for Crouch to get on the score sheet (even gave him a go with a penalty, which Crouch duly missed).

Stevie often goes out of his way to get the new boys playing. I like that about our Captain.

The Swedish commentator said that Suarez hasn't played since early(?) december.
Even more promising (if so).

has anyone seen any motd or match torrents about yet? i'd like to see it again without the shite eastern european commentary in the bar

If he is half as good as he was in the WC we will have some player.

Gotta love the smile on Stevie's face.
