Luis Suarez pwned by the Lizards and is Staying, and has said sorry to BR and teammates

I dont think for one minute he was actualy contemplating a move to Arsenal..

A. It was and still is media Hype..
B. He and/or his agent where probably using them to force Madrids Hand..
C. You would have to be incredibly stupid to jump from a club like Liverpool to Arsenal... out of the 3 teams battling for 4th place, with Bale being sold and Arsenals lack of transfer activity, you would have to say Liverpool are probably in the strongest position to fight for 4th right now..
D. Arsenal have not yet guarenteed Champions League football.

Against that there is the fact that the bids were actually confirmed - it's not hype.

Suarez has already done his public climb down from needing to leave because of the English media.

That doesn't negate what RedNinja has said though (that he wasn't contemplating the move - just playing them for a move to Madrid).

As for the climb down, yes. That is right.

I am not arguing over the bids are being made or not.. thats clear cut.. what I am saying is that he hasn't really publically come out and said he wants to join Arsenal. The fact he has said he wants to play in the Champions League has been spun by the media that he actually wants to join Arsenal imho..

He is not going to publically come out and say he does not want to join Arsenal (on agent advice).. as he will playing them in the hope to get the deal he wants, being Madrid done..

It was his camp indicating a move to an English club was not out of the question after his rant about the English media.

I would be surprised if Arsenal made the bid without knowing he would be willing o leave for them.

Guardiola played Arsenal to provide clarity on the 40M clause and possibly elicit a bid from Real or any other possibly contenders. However, if Arsenal pay up, Suarez will join them. It's all hearsay but Suarez was being advised on schools and housing by Arteta showing that he has given serious thought to the move.

Suarez' 50M price tag hasn't been met yet and its not because of his ability. He hasn't been any teams priority transfer which is a disappointment for him. He'll be a Liverpool player come the start of the season unless Spurs go head to head with Chelsea for him should the Chav's Rooney bid fail.

If Arsenal's bid was real and if Suarez (really) wanted to play for Arsenal then he would have handed in a written transfer request by now.

Barring Arsenal stumping up 50m+ or Madrid entering the market he'll be with us for another season. We can then resume this thread in January or May 2014.

You said moving next year would make him an even bigger cunt, if he goes to RM, I don't think it does.

I meant moving next year would make him a cunt, even if we had CL football. He said he wants to move because he wants CL football. I'm saying that if we were to qualify for the CL next year, and he found some other excuse for wanting to leave, well THAT would make him an even bigger cunt.

I think it's clear Arsenal are second choice for him. So there's no point in making a transfer request until Madrid make up their mind.

I've little doubt he'd join Arsenal if Madrid told him they weren't interested. But he's probably second choice for them - so they'll keep him on the long finger til Bale is finished.

Hype or not, there has to be some truth in it. As Ross said, his initial reason for wanting to leave, was that so he could escape the British media. But then he backtracked and claimed he wanted CL football instead. Just around the the same time Arsenal made a bid for him,

He has always stated he wants Champions League football.. he never backtracked... the media spun it as if he just backtracked.. He would of re-iterated that point of Champions League football on the advice of his agent... Clearly to get Madrid to come into the fold to bid for him, knowing Arsenal where about to bid..

He was only saying before the end of last season he wants to play in the Champions League.. I do not beleive he will join Arsenal.. I just cannot see it happening.. More so they are not guarenteed Champions League football at present and the reasons I mentioned earlier..

He is just playing the game..

Shortly before his next injury.

Ha. I have high hopes that we can manage him better than has previously been the case. We've worked wonders with SG, and even Agger *touches wood* has been almost injury free after being a walking accident. Lets hope we can do the same for other members of the squad like Sturridge.

Well, it seems my "Monday he'll be sold" prediction was well off - but in fairness, this thread has slowed down a lot since then.

Seems to be around about 100 posts a day, and if we say there's about 20 posts that can fit on a page, I'm saying that makes it about 10pm Friday he gets sold, despite the unlikeliness of that prospect.

Unless of course people really get into it and start posting more, in which case I'm saying Friday afternoon

Nice to see us not giving in. If Bale goes for 85M then Suarez is worth 65M

I wonder how it's going on the Spurs' discussion boards...

"...If Suarez is worth 45M, Bale is worth 345M!"

"Real can stump up 782M plus Ronaldo and Puskas if they want our Bale!"

"If we let go of Bale, there goes our top four hopes for the next couple years. Liverpool could probably even leapfrog us if they hold on to Suarez..."

I'm legitimately curious now

Bayern Munich or Real Madrid are set to be named as the winners in the scrap to sign Liverpool's Luis Suarez.
SportsDirect News has learned that the Liverpool striker will disappoint hopeful Arsenal who bid £40 million plus £1.
And although his final destination is being kept a closely guarded secret, we have been told that it looks certain that either the German or Spanish giant have won the race.
A source close to the deal said: "I have been told by a person very close to the player that the deal is done and that it's not Arsenal.
"No one ever takes anything for granted in this game until a final announcement is made but all the indications are he will be en route to Madrid or Munich - the only other serious bidders.
"Luis has insisted throughout the Real Madrid is his favoured destination but Bayern's manager Pep Guardiola has been working hard in the background.
"As I understand it a deal has been agreed and we are not far away from a formal announcement."
