Surprised there haven't been 49726092212 different threads about him to be honest.

I've gotta say; he's better than I thought he was going to be, by quite some way too. I think like most people, I'd watched him at the WC, seen a few Ajax games, and flicked through the obligatory youtube vids and had some degree of confidence that he'd do the job, but he's better than all that.

This kid's a fucking star. I love that right now all I've got is love for the little legend. I love his workrate, his touch, his nutmegs, his goals, his ability to do it in the big games, his unbelievabe capability to find space on a crowded pitch, his hardness, his hair, his orange boots, his weird wrist-tappy celebration, his song, the works.

Time will settle in and we'll find compalints somewhere along the way, but this is like finding a new bird who you know's too good for you; her tits are too big for you to know what to do with, she's filthier than you'd imagined, and she rides like Lester Piggott on acid. You know you might ultimately get your heart broken in the long run, but all you can think of right now is the sex and the perfectness.

I love him.

He's been a revelation. Suarez seems to be fitter than other players though. Probably because he didn't play any football for 2 months (December - January) and he isn't playing in the Europa League.
The real test is if he can keep this up next season.

His price tag of £23 Million is a steal considering how he's performed.

I thought he was good at Ajax, I didn't think - like you - that he was this good. We've got a great lil player here ...

He makes me laugh like a loon, he's so good.

Clarence Seedorf on MOTD said something which has stuck with me,

"He does the opposite from what you think is logic".

I love him. And I love the fact that he'll clearly do whatever it takes to win.
This. He oozes it - the desire to win. He has this 'all's fair when if it gets my team a win' attitude and I fucking love it.

I absolutely love him already. He has talent in abundance and all the confidence to use it. It might be slightly premature but I'm convinced he'll soon be considered one of the best in the world.

It is all the more satisfying that he would have been a perfect signing for Chelsea.

we look utterly headless without him and that fucking has to change because suarez can't play every game. we don't seem to be able to move away from an over reliance on a couple of players to even look competent. I hope kenny (if he gets the jobs) instills a system that keeps on marching even if the star player is out for game or two.

I really liked him in the WC, and I thought he'd be snapped up by someone with much more dosh than us, esp. in those dark days of G&H. I thought he'd be good, but he has exceeded expectations, no doubt. He looks like he's an infectious presence in the dressing room too, which by the sounds of things we needed.

Ace post, Ryan, and I agree - he looks like a genuine PL star already. The only thing that worries me (although it's understandable, and in some ways a good sign) is his temper: the way he was raging at Spearing and some other team-mates on Sunday because they didn't pass or move the way he wanted them to... it's the Latin temperament, and it's the sign of a winner. But it might piss other people off, and it also makes me worry that he'll be agitating for a move to Barca within two seasons. But still, as you said, let's enjoy the sex while we've got it.

I like what he gets angry about our players for, and what he wants them to do. He will improve other players attacking play, and hopefully Carroll will be a chief benefactor.

I think he seems like such a character off the pitch that all will be forgiven quickly. It will be interesting to see what happens if he gives SG a chewing. He's been handing it out for years, it will be interesting to see how he takes it.
Presuming that he had always played with a similar attitude, I doubt if he would have been made Ajax captain without some ability to get along with his fellow players.

Great post Ryan!

I love Luis already. He's got so much class that you just know something will happen when he recives the ball.

I don't think we should be negative towards his temper on the pitch. This is what we have been lacking for years, and we need it. He's quick to give praise if the pass was good, so it goes both ways.

He's an absolute steal, and the first thing that came to my mind when he scored the goal against Sunderland was, Premier league player of the year 2011/12.

About time we had some fire in the belly up top. Lovely Dirk, affable n'gog, sulky torres, bored cisse, dull owen, bland baros. Only mental bellamy stands out, but he was....mental

I saw him knowlingly like once in the World cup and thought he looked a bit classy.

Other than that I had absolutely no idea what we were getting our grubby mits on bar the obligatory youtube clip.

He's surpassed any and every expectation. I don't think we could have spent £23m better on any single one player.

Yeah, I bet Harry Redknapp is gutted. If they'd have got Suarez and Carroll this January, I'd have backed them to win the league next season.

And now here's Jamie Redknapp's verdict:

Jamie Redknapp is convinced Luis Suarez's arrival in England will benefit not only Liverpool, but also the Barclays Premier League as a whole.

The Uruguay striker has impressed in five appearances since moving to Anfield from Ajax on January's transfer deadline day.

And after watching Suarez net his second Reds goal with an audacious effort against Sunderland on Sunday, Redknapp believes the 24-year-old has the type of sparkling talents that will excite fans up and down the country.

"Luis Suarez is an Anfield No.7 legend in the making," said the former Liverpool midfielder, who made 308 appearances for the club.

"Forget about Fernando Torres taking time to adjust after a big move. Suarez has made it look easy since arriving from Ajax.

"He reminds me of Carlos Tevez; he's a real pocket rocket who plays with a big smile on his face.

"I think he'll prove to be a great acquisition for the Barclays Premier League, not just Liverpool."

Fucking hell. Could he be any more Sky?

I love Suarez for the supreme confidence he shows in his own ability and how he can lift the team.

He is pure magic and we have a legend in the making right here.

May he have a long succesful injury free Liverpool career filled with loads of goals.

Injury update;

Won't be playing the international games for Uruguay, but our medical staff thinks he'll be ready for the WBA game.

Did anyone see Daglish and Meireless grinned from ear to ear when he came off injured? *tap nose*

Yeah. That groin seemed like blag.

I've been dumped too many times by people I thought were the one. I'm going to enjoy his tricks like the cheap whore he is, and think no less of him now or when he fucks off.

We love him after what, a handful of games. It's incredible, he's incredible. Everyone is making noise about Carroll's inflated fee but we got a bargain with Suarez. He destroed Man United in his third game or so.

When a player like this comes along we wonder how on earth we coped without him in the past. I know we had Torres but we have a new hero now. To think we we're subjected to N'gog when Torres was out, now we have Carroll and Suarez to lead the line for us. I can't wait for Gerrard to get back into the team to link up with them.

I posted this October the 8th 2010 elsewhere on here

With regards to Luiz Suarez:

In the past watching him play for Ajax - the Season when he was shitting goals - I wasn't at all convinced. He missed at least five sitters in every game even in those where he scored three. His shot-to-goal ratio must've been one of the worse in quite some time.

And when you then look at the likes of Kuyt, Alves and Huntelaar coming from the same league shitting goals and see how much they've struggled to hit the same figures everywhere else (Huntelaar has started well in Schalke mind) you'd be inclined to think that a fee in the region of £20M and upwards for Suarez would be a good waste of money.

However I've slightly changed my stance after watching the first games of the new Season as he not only look much matured but also far more dangerous. His freekicks are out of this world really and his eye for his team-mates has improved a lot.

I'd be tempted if he were indeed avaliable in the region of say £20M at this stage as he's gone from decent with a marvellous goal-record to great with very much the same ammount of goals to his name.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm still surprised however with the impact he's had so early on. We could only dream about such a start to his Anfield career really. Long may it continue.

And fact of the matter is I don't miss Torres one bit after only five games, who would've thought?

I love the fact that, as Keniget pointed out, he'l do anything to win. I also love the fact that he's ugly and skillful.

We've missed that trait dearly over the past two Seasons haven't we?

Ever since Gerrard started to struggle with form (and lawsuits etc) no-one really has showed this attitude and determination as we've seen from Suarez already.

It's not always pretty but it's effective and much welcome at this stage.
