Local lads you wished had made it

I'm never encouraged by any youngster with a bustling running style. I think that's why I knew Adam Morgan would never make it with us. I suppose I always think they're trying to compensate for a lack of class.

It just annoys me. Piss off with the bustling. Who are they trying to kid? I want players who glide.

I know what you mean, and as a rule I'd agree, but there are exceptions. Tevez bustles, for example.

David fairclough? I know he's famous an all but he didn't play much when it was the same 11 week in week out

David Thompson is the one that sticks out for me.
Remember every man and their dog raving about him before he kicked a ball in the senior team.

55 goals in 92 starts and 61 as sub. Won trophies. Hardly in the didn't make it category.

He didn't get medals for the vast majority for our success. You needed to be in the final 12 for the cups, or play 15 times in the league. So I think he got one league medal and one European Cup medal in all that time of getting splinters

No, but he was brought back only to tell Rodgers he didn't feel right, then they eased off and let him come back when he felt more positive, and he did, played one game and said he felt way better, then faded again. It just doesn't seem good.
This 'still' doesn't clear up the dying bit but nice to know Rodgers is some kind of voodoo magician.

You think 55 goals for Liverpool over 8 years at the height of our powers, in 153 appearances while winning a league title and European cup, scoring important, and sometimes brilliant goals, and being an intergral part of that wonderful team when the sqaud was 15 strong and you could only use one sub is 'not making it'.
Wow.

Wow.

He does.

He particulary felt hard down by Paisley when Steve Highway started in front of him as apparently Bob promised him more game time if he stayed with Liverpool when Toshack retired.

He had just one season (77-78) when he was a regular. The rest of his carear was pretty much bench or injury replacement. When he left he played for a collection of nobodies (at least no-one I remember).

He really sounds like he hates Paisley. Whenever he's on TV and Paisley's praised he has a sneer on his face. But did he actually deserve many more starts than he got? I only remember him being fairly disappointing when he did get a full 90 minutes.
