We do need to improve but I certainly don't think we need "huge" investment to win the title. Our form under Kenny and our squad as it stands are already good enough for 2nd/3rd place in the league.

Since the 'happy day' in January this is the league table:

1 Chelsea 14 11 2 1 30-9 +21 35
2 Liverpool 15 9 3 3 30-12 +18 30
3 Man United 15 9 2 4 28-14 +14 29
4 Arsenal 14 7 6 1 26-14 +12 27
So we still don't win the league >🙁 ................
Not even close 5 points behind and played a game extra.

Take that DA 🙂

‘I don’t go to Anfield - that’s all in the past', admits Liverpool FC legend Kevin Keegan
by Neil Jones, Liverpool Echo
May 13 2011

On the pitch will be Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher, whilst in the dugout Kenny Dalglish will be working his magic, aided by the cajoling Sammy Lee.

Up in the press area, John Aldridge, Ian St John and Tommy Smith display as pundits the same passion and enthusiasm which illuminated their playing careers, whilst a few yards away the likes of Ian Rush, David Johnson, Jan Molby, David Fairclough and Alan Kennedy are regulars in the directors box.

One man rarely spotted at L4, however, is Kevin Keegan – the driving force behind the club’s ascent to the top of the European football tree in the 1970s.

“I don’t really like going back,†he admits. “The Liverpool era for me is written. That is how I’d like it to stay.

“Those six years I had, and the people I met, remain with me. I see Ron Yeats, Cally (Ian Callaghan), Tommy Smith, and those who came after me, and I really like that club, but I don’t really go back, and in truth I don’t like to.

“I get asked to go back to Hamburg every week, honestly, but I just don’t like to go back. That’s me. I’m 60 now and I am still looking forward. I think too many players live in the past. They are like ‘remember that game and remember this game’. I’m not like that.â€

Nonetheless, Keegan confesses to retaining a soft spot for the club which plucked him from lower league obscurity with Scunthorpe in 1971. He says he will be rooting for Manchester City in tomorrow’s FA Cup final with Stoke, but admits it would be different if they were facing Liverpool.

“Most people who come up to me now,†he laughs. “They can remember me falling off my bike in Superstars, the quote with Fergie, the record I made, the Brut advert I made. And I always say to them: ‘don’t you remember any of my goals?’â€

Liverpool fans do, and a lot more besides. It’s just a shame they so rarely get the chance to show it.

I always find it hard to see a Liverpool player in Kevin Keegan. It doesn't seem to fit somehow. I guess it's because he rarely speaks fondly about us, which I find odd given how pivotal we are in his history, and because of his obvious allegiance to the Geordies.
