You just know we're going to win this in style. That is if you've used this mini break like I have. Drinking too much, eating too much, and forgetting just how bad we have been.

5-0.

And thats the very last time you will ever feel confident with Roy as our manager, he must have shattered your dreams now too?

Phew, so glad I went out sledding or sleighing or whatever it's called when you mess about on a sled or sleigh or whatever it's called.

If he had any dignity he would have resigned ages ago, but he's going to hang around for his payoff.

This is a wretched season. Henry needs to get Dalglish in and get things moving forwards.
No disrespect Squigg, as I do like you, but fuck off. Six months ago we were in a transitional period with the yanks who brought in a stop gap manager to ease the sale of the club, and the new yanks still haven't got rid.

We need to start NOW, no more transition, no more part time managers. Come in, assess the players (even if it means not buying in January) and move us forward finally in the long term.

Please.

We are the laughing stock of English football.
Yeah, and no decent Manger is going to be available in January, mid season.

Telling me to "fuck off" for suggesting we get Dalglish in over Roy is fucking embarrassing.

Having had nearly three weeks without competitive action because of weather postponements the team could not complain about fatigue.

However, their lack of cohesion against Wolves could well have been down to that period of inactivity, although the Reds boss pointed out it was quality which was lacking.

'I think all bad results knock everyone's confidence but I think I can look (myself) in the mirror,' said Hodgson.

'I am trying the best I can do and the group of players I put out there was probably the best XI, apart from Daniel Agger who has been injured long term.

'When I think about it had I chosen a different team which did not have a midfield of Dirk Kuyt, Lucas Leiva, Steven Gerrard and Raul Meireles, with Fernando Torres and David Ngog up front, I don't think things would have been different,

'I fear whatever team I chose the performance would have been the same and that showed when I made the three substitutions and it didn't alter the level of performance.

'I don't think there are many players happy with how they played. I put it down to it being a bad day for us.'

When we beat Wolves 2-0 at Anfield last season, Pepe hit the ball long 1 time.

Yesterday it was over 30.

See the difference........... Fuck me.............

Seriouslt does the stupid old duffer not realise that :-

a) He fielded a midfield of 4 in a 4-4-2 system consisting of 3 central midfielders & a forward. Of course it wasn't going to work. Merieles has been gash every time he's played in a wide position & Kuyt as a left winger is almost surreal.

b) his fucking substitutes didn't alter the formation or tactics one single bit which suggests quite clearly that the fucking tactics were wrong.

c) We're sitting deep & pinging long balls to N'gog & Torres... that's it... that's our masterplan... against wolves... at home!!! Genius.

d) so he's taken a Benitez team, who's greatest failings were width, pace & ability to break down teams that parked the bus... made the team slower and less creative... has them sitting back and inviting teams not so much as to un-park the bus, but all jump in it whack it in to gear, step on the gas and coming rolling over the top of us while he fannies about wondering why no-one supports him.

I have a wheely bin sitting out the back that could do a better job than this old duffer... it's no-where near as full of shit as Roy

Gerrard walked straight back in the side (fair enough, but I would have eased him in) to make that inclusion happen he moved kuyt to left midfield and play miereles (who has been excellent in the middle) to right midfield. These are the tactics of our manager. Let's be honest here, the closest any of us has come to managing is FM whereas Roy is a manager of 30+ years of experience but that idiocy plan and simple. Easy to say but let's break it further;

Torres and ngog up front - who is going to shield the ball and play with their back to goal?
Gerrard, lucas, meireles, kuyt - who is going to be the passing option in a wide position?
How many games has kuyt played on the left?
How many games has miereles played on the right?

Simple put, is it any wonder the 'team' produced a disjointed, disorganised, chaotic MESS?

Roy can blame lack of effort, lack of match practice but the tactics are what let the team down as the have pretty much all season.

Do you still think he should stay till the end of the season Neil?
I don't think he should be sacked until the new manager has been secured and at the very least we secure a CEO with a long term vision.
I was all for putting kenny in charge at the start of the season but that time has passed. if kenny takes charge it will go either way;

a) he is a success
and is forced to hand over the reins despite guiding the club out of a massive hole.

b) he is a failure
and his spotless image is tarnished

I don't want to see either to be honest. the only thing that will make me change my mind is if we getting pulled into a relagation battle, then drastic action will have to be taken and even then I wouldn't like to give kenny the job under those circumstances.
I want him gone more than anyone (BELIEVE ME) but I'm willing to bite my lip for 5 months.

You're mad. A nice guy, but mad. We don't know how long it will take to make a permanent appointment, we've appointed Comolli with a long-term vision, and your objections to appointing Kenny now - which we've already discussed, and which don't add up - would have applied equally at the start of the season.

I was reluctant for Kenny to risk his reputation at the beginning of the season, but it seems to me he can hardly make a mess of it from this point. We're three points off the relegation placings, so effectively all he has to do is take us to safety and restore some pride and passion in the short term. I don't think he'd want the job full time, and I'm sure he's well aware that the club are searching for a young manager around whom they can build a renaissance. So tbh, I don't think either of your fears are valid. It'd be a half-season rescue job.

I also think the alternative - limping along with a manager who's hated by the fans and seems to have lost the players - is unthinkable.

I've never been confident with Roy. I just can't predict anything but a win for us. Reality feels like cheating.

10 minutes to go here and I've had about enough so I'm knocking off work and having a beer.

Might join you for a single malt & wines on the cards later.

Anyway happy new year to one and all....

Especially roy who I hope has all him dreams come true.... At whatever club he ends up at after he gets the sack next week.

Muuuuuuuuhhhhaaaaaaahaaaaaaa!

That would be a reactionary strategy, which is foolish. We should be taking preventative measures before that scenario becomes a reality.

well, obviously I hope it doesn't come to that as I'm sure nesv are hoping as well.
it should be obvious to all by now nesv don't want an interim manager especially since they don't have a CEO in place. roy wont be sacked until a CEO is in place and even when one is appointed I still think roy will be allowed to see out the reason.

c'mon, nesv have he perfect get out to sack roy and the fans would love them for it but roy is still in charge. I think the yanks have outlined their '5 point plan' and they are reluctant to deviate from it unless they absolutely have to...unfortunately roy heard the yanks say '5 point plan' and took the words literally ;D
