Ok first half against shit, hard to care much.

I say we promote the head groundskeeper to some sort of director of football role. It must be said that the pitch looks fucking fantastic.

On the plus side, its a Monday night and were winning.

You can see why West Ham supporters want rid of Zola: this doesn't look like a side fighting for PL survival. We're 2-0 up, totally unthreatened, and we've not even got out of second gear.

Still, I don't mind watching us pass the ball from side to side when we're winning comfortably.

We've been pretty ordinary, but West Ham have been diabolical.

Maxi, Kuyt and Gerrard have been decent, nobody else has really had much to do.

Yossi scored the first and created the second. But yeah, apart from that...

Great finish too

Brendan is right, West Ham are making us look a lot better than we are.

Plusses have been Gerrard's crossing and Glen Johnson.

Not to mention Wash's very nice finish.

He's still a pretty terrible footballer.

They all count. As I'm sure you'd point out had Kuyt scored it.

True, Benayoun too, was involved in both goals.

Can someone explain to me what West Ham;s midfield is doing? Is it Behrami playing in there with Noble as a CM?
Neither seem to know what the fuck they're supposed to be doing.

Am I missing something? What was so great about N'Gog's finish?

I'm pleased he scored obviously, and he got free nicely, but he just hit it towards the goal basically. If that was against us I'd expect Reina to save it.

I've not seen a replay though.

I was quite surprised when they mentioned it was Yossi's 8th goal of the season. And even moreso when Jimmy said in another thread he's only had three league starts in 2010. His good form at the start of the season feels like ancient history. Shame his season has turned out the way it has.

It wasn't a great finish in the end, I think people (including myself) were rightfully happy for him due to the unfair stick he gets.

His movement was good, pulled away to the near post and he did his job.

If we play like this against Chelsea, no worries about throwing the game, we'll be beaten. Its all sideways.

Indeed.

N'gog seems much better when he only has a split second to react. Whenever he has enough time to think about it he tends to fuck it up.

I think he's generally shown himself to be decent enough inside the box, it's just his approach play and all-round game still needs a lot of work. The goal against Utd showed a nice bit of composure though.

Lucas plays a nice ball to Johnson who is getting forward a lot, eventually comes to a dangerous FK on the edge of the penalty box.

Gerrard direct into the wall, corner.

The way West Ham are staying off the ball is insane, there's so much space.

I remember he scored a nice goal away to PSV last season, a very composed finished.

What a mad game. In the beginning I thought West Ham were safe, but having since looked at the table, they could really do with getting something out of this. How disgusted must their fans be...

[/quote]I remember he missed 4 sitters against Birmingham to effectively end our season.
