Liverpool vs Spurs

I seem to recall we beat these guys in Madrid last year. I don't seem to recall the last time they beat us.

The Gods are angry with you and you must repent.

Everything shaping up for a mad league this year, like the Leicester one a few years ago. Stars are aligning for Spurs to win it. I can feel it.

“Alexander-Arnold is not injured,” Mourinho said. “Matip … I believe that he is going to play. Fabinho is not injured. Robertson is not injured. Henderson is not injured. Wijnaldum is not injured. Salah is not injured. Firmino is not injured. Mané is not injured. Van Dijk is injured

Reminds of this. VVD is the dead one, Gomez is the unmentioned pigeon:

Sky 17.00 yesterday.

Liverpool
defender Joel Matip and midfielder Naby Keita remain doubts for their top-of-the-table clash with Tottenham.

Matip was forced off at half-time in Sunday's Premier League draw with Fulham with a back spasm and is receiving treatment, while Keita missed the match with a knock which could keep him out again.

Midfielders Xherdan Shaqiri (muscle), James Milner (hamstring) and Thiago Alcantara (knee) all remain sidelined.

Tottenham are likely to be without Gareth Bale for the trip to Anfield. The Wales international is struggling with an illness that kept him out of Sunday's 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace. Erik Lamela (Achilles) and Japhet Tanganga (shoulder) are also missing.

SPurs could be 20 points clear with 7 games to go, and I still wouldn't put money on them wining the league

True, but different manager now who plays to our weaknesses

Also they twatted us at their place like 2 years ago.

The hacks once again allow Mourinho to control his own image without any critical interference. That's why the old rogue prefers England to Spain or Italy, where his nonsense is sneered at and ridiculed. In his latest presser he reveals that he's taken the time to count how many hours Klopp has been at LFC, and how many hours he's been at Spurs - I mean, what a saddo! But the hacks just nod, listen respectfully, and then write it up as if it's a masterclass in 'mind games'. Then he ignores several of our first team starters to claim that LFC are only 'really' missing VVD - plainly wrong, ludicrously wrong, but I've seen about four separate reports so far and not one points out he's incorrect. That's why he loves it here - it's the only place where his sad pettiness, Pooter-like misconceived pedantry and utter classlessness is treated as genius.

Although the media lets him play his games, he clearly is great at riling up other fan bases and seemingly moving pressure off his team to the other teams.
I really hope we absolutely smash them - like that Suarez led mauling with Flanno scored that late peach of a goal. Just hammer them and make him say "Yes, I told you - no injuries". Cunt (him obviously, not you)

Yes, but surely the point is: he wasn't great at doing that in other countries because the media wouldn't serve as his uncritical mouthpiece. His attempts only reached his intended audience after they'd already been coated in derision. He can only do it here because the media plays along. Klopp gets a hostile grilling if he says anything vaguely controversial. Mourinho just dictates his words and they're duly reported. It was just the same with Cantona's ridiculous image here as a 'deep philosophical thinker' after his absurd and rambling 'fishes' metaphor - anywhere else and you'd only hear it accompanied by cackling laughter, but in the UK, 'cor...that's deep!' The place has become the Vogue magazine of naked emperors.

I don't remember the Spanish media with Mourinho, but the Italian one hammered him ... he hated them.

I would love it if we beat them.

Press is different in Spain. Marca is basically a pro Real Madrid publication, he didnt need to do anything to them drinking out of his toilet ita just one of the services they provide as standard

It's the subs' bench that concerns me most. We need a goal threat from it and decent defensive cover, and I'm not sure we've got that. Klopp is looking to give Cain some minutes, but unless we have a really good night I doubt that'll happen in this game. Origi really needs a slap or two to wake him up - he's just got to step up now. We also need Chamberlain to be ready. But we've got two painfully out of sorts subs for our attackers.

Does Cain have a goalscoring knack? It would be a chance for him with Jota out... It's only Ox I can see scoring from our fit attackers at the moment which is a shame

We’re at home and bar a recent Lovren clusterfuck, we always beat the puffed up pricks. Always.

I can’t believe folk are scared of this bunch of gutless twats.

And don’t get me started on all this ‘Mourinho is a master at mind games’ bollocks. He’s about as psychologically sophisticated as Nigel cunting Farage. Fuck him and his infantile routines.

4-0

Cunts

He does, and is excellent at free kicks, but his main value is in hitting balls for the forwards from deep. He'd be useful at starting counter attacks.

We won't need the subs bench, except to run down the final few minutes, if the first XI do their job - which they will.

This will be a war of attrition. Joey M will set up to take a point. His main form of attack will be set pieces and Son hovering on the half way line for Kane or whoever picking it up and trying to play him in, with a raid party backing Son up. Classic counter stuff. Pity Jota is out, his quick thinking will be missed. Salah has to get closer to Bobby and Bobby has to get in the box a bit more. The Ox might get on later but It'll be down to Mo & Co. to unlock them.

Pep trying to unsettle us with his waffle, poor lad's becoming unhinged.

I'm not seeing how it will even be physically possible to start a counter attack against mourinho's team.

That's right, they'll sit in and try and hit us on the counter. Think they are in a false position.Rely to much on Kane/Son buddy up. The rest are a top 10 team at best. If we were on song I'd expect a decent win.I'm still going for 3-1 courtesy of 2 late goals...84mins and 89 mins to be precise.

Liverpool: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, R. Williams, Fabinho, Robertson, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Jones, Mane, Salah, Firmino.
Subs: Kelleher, Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Minamino, Origi, Phillips, N. Williams.
