I was talking about our defence in general. I wasn't aware we played differently depending on the competition

The problem is, beyond TAA, VVD and Robertson, we can't really trust anyone else. Gomez is error ridden but young, Lovren and Matip are both inconsistent, Klavan isn't great, the keepers are hit and miss and Clyne isn't fit.
Quote whatever stats you like, if you trust Lovren then you're a fool.
Lallana's not going to be worth trying if his last rehab was anything to go by - it took him several games to even start looking sharp, and we don't have those games now. Woodburn needs to step up, like he did for Wales. And we need Solanke given a run-out at the weekend in the hope he might get a goal and boost his confidence. It's frustrating - we've nursed this squad SO well this season but just when we need depth the most we're wafer thin.
I agree totally Oncy, but this insufferable defence of our defense, smacks of the same whoppers who kept insisting last season that we didn't need more goals. We did and we now have it, just like we can improve on (some of) our defenders.
It's quite frustrating. Even if we have enough to win next week and on the weekend.
Going into the final with no real quality cover for the CB, CM, or CF position. What if that game goes into extra time, or if we are winning by a goal and need fresh legs. Right now, we don't have it, whereas Real/Bayern have it in abundance.
Remember when Henderson got sent off against Man City, and whilst we celebrated the win, we all kind of knew it would affect us down the line.. it's the same feeling here (with Ox's injury). Can we even call Gruijic back?

Ffs Lovren was immense all match, and then made one mistake ...
He made quite a few mistakes in this game (& fucking missed a gimme header!)
We need to stop taking Salah off for the last ten minutes. What benefit is it to him. We got overrun down our right when he went off.
It wasn’t just missing the header. He played him onside and ran backwards too long. He’s a gimp.
