Do a vote

Democratic, like

See how many people think Kuyt's dummy was intentional, vs those who think it was not

You'll find that anyone with the slightest fucking clue about football, will vote 'intentional'

Go on, do it. You can't possibly make yourself look any more stupid, so what have you got to lose?
Democracy? On a site that voted Fox ahead of Brendan? No way man, that's like asking for a 2nd term for George Bush.

The dummy was intentional, and anyone who reckons otherwise is a myopic clown
When it comes to you and Kuyt, it's like the exact opposite of Sven & Riise ...
So you dont think that was an intentional dummy?!
I dunno what Dirk was trying to do (deflection/dummy) - he turned around to celebrate as if it was his goal, so I assumed he wanted (or thought he did have) some sort of contact on the ball - Only one way to know for certain is to ask the man himself ...
Fucking hell.

I am actually stunned you had the audacity to type that.

Ironically, the only thing worse than watching our form this season has been trudging through some of the threads and posts on this site.

It was definitely intentional, you can tell by watching the goal using a computer or television.

In LTW's defense though, there are a few others on the last page who claimed it was doubtful.

Just look at Kuyt's face as the ball goes under his leg, he's already got his head turned, looking toward the far corner in anticipation. I'd sell Kuyt in a shot but that was a great bit of play.

or watching you defend kuyt's (or Lucas for that matter) position in the 1st 11 after 2.5 months of average to poor displays ... I guess we both like the poison eh? Oh well, what can you do ...

I had some doubts regarding Dirk's intention but I was working while watching the game. Haven't seen replays since. Not worth arguing over.

Only player I know who has a better non-touch than first touch. Piss poor form but still a good player and not the reason why we're struggling.

Kuyt's a good player. He might not be playing so well now but he's no worse than anyone else.
Maybe if we had a squad full of brilliant players then it might be worth resting him but we don't, so its not.

Given last seasons form Dirk, and Yossi have been especially poor this term.

Fine squad players, but too inconsistent to be first choice at a big club.

That's two votes to one
Watching any replay of the goal will clearly demonstrate that Kuyt intentionally dummied the ball.
However, whilst it turned out in his favor, it would be interesting to see the reaction on 6CM if Gerrard's shot had been saved or had zipped wide.
Kuyt was onside and if the ball had not gone in, he would have been crucified. Such fine margins between genius and disgrace. . .

Considering it was very obviously a shot from Gerrard and not a pass into Kuyt I don't think he would've been crucified at all had it gone wide.
If it had been saved he would have been well placed for the rebound, which I suspect he had in mind anyway.

them

3 shots 2 on target

My chum and I were remarking on this today. Despite our mediocrity in midfield we keep making chances but lack the ability to capitalise.
Which brings me back to my age old argument, well this season at least, don't blame it on the defence, don't blame it on the midfield - blame it on the strikers (or lack of them to be precise).
Did anyone notice yesterday that Torres and N'gog kept meeting up on the right touchline, leaving no one in the middle.

How is that ironic?
Dunno, but I'm sure Alanis'd be able to tell you.

Brilliant play by Kuyt who was clearly NOT offside.
This.

re. Kuyt - intentional or not.

It was like that in the game previous aswell, for Torres. I think it shows how poor our wide play is, that to find some pace and trickery out there, the strikers are going wide to compensate for the lack of it.

I don't mind Torres doing that but the other players really have to compensate by being in the penalty box.
