Liverpool vs Man Utd

I have to admit that I often find myself thinking that any new poster is just another comeback made by some of the mad ones that eventually left..

I will try to do better and be less biased in the future, I promise.

I've just noticed two unfamilar names in the members list:

Orb Schneider and Sun King!

They seem new! HELLOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Meh, this debate always happens.

We're a tiny forum, we have few regulars & only a few fit in here, & when the team suffers the same issues over & over again no one cba discussing it cos it's just fucking groundhog day every day.

When we start winning again, or get a new cb or midfielder in or something it'll liven up again.

The same thing happened under bad spells with every previous manager, you literally run out of new things to talk about, which in a forum with few members is impossible to sustain.

It's not new, it's not any different this time, & it's certainly not permanent. When we win the league & the CL this forum will be buzzing again, just you wait & see.

Also, to put into context, this bad spell is a succession of draws. Hardly the end of the world, under Hodgson this site was like a graveyard AND we were getting beaten by shitty clubs like Everton regularly.

I actually expected this in the summer as it was tournament free, but a couple of terrorist incidents & Trump ensured traffic stayed high.

Not that I'm saying we need a terrorist attack to stay busy or anything.

*Googles how to make a bomb*

Yeah, I feel like that these days - there isn't much left to say about this team.

I wonder what other Liverpool forums spend the days discussing.

Wasn't the sheer misery and anger and frustration of Budgie's ill-starred reign quite good for traffic? Surely there was a load of new, angry threads being created every other minute?

Anyway, this lull does feel a little bit like "same old shit" as the pre-season optimism has rapidly evaporated, and there isn't even enough to get really angry about hasn't been already discussed and done, plus there's no obvious targets for everyone to really hate

It's just..we're not going to challenge for the title, we all know it, it's only October, and nobody is surprised or even overly disappointed.

Can I just say about this hidden mod/management forum that people keep alluding to. It gets posted in once every blue moon, I don't know why people make it out to be something sinister, it's a non-entity..

I thought that the forum gets quieter after a win (unless it's a really big win) as most people enjoy whinging on football forums rather than celebrating. I include myself in this and I post a lot more during shit performances or after disappointing results and I find it quite cathartic.
I should get involved in more non football threads but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy reading some of the mad opinions some people have as well as some of the more informed ones too.

It changed when you came in mate ... we decided to be more mature in light of the father figure we had just brought in.

I wasn't referencing it in a sinister way - just giving you all credit to say the lack of comment on it suggests it is being discussed privately.

Brizz - it was really boring ... 1 person posted, 3 people commented, and then everyone went back to smoking weed.
Nothing else.

Have to agree Fox - it has been depressing and I think most of us have covered all the things that are wrong with the team. For those of us that see the team playing and performing like the way Klopp has been re-iterating and defending the team in press conferences - well all I can say is that I am at a loss as to why we are not winning games and scoring all those chances we seem to create. It is just not our luck at the moment - and I think we have to accept it so its a bit depressing when you know that much of it is outside the control of the people in charge at the moment. Bottom line is that the players have to finish off the chances - we create enough to win nearly every game. Also - no one can predict how the team will play from game to game which makes it even harder to get excited before games - do you come onto the forum and go - we are gonna trash em 7-0 - coz thats how I feel we could do but then we fail to bloody score and more than likely it ends up been a draw.

Sometimes I feel we would be better off losing a few games to give the players a kick up the backside.

Fuck this, one of the biggest games of the season and people are talking about Mod forums.

Whatever happens on Saturday this place should be very lively

I've been busy with work the past couple weeks. The slow pace on here has suited me fine. Not like I've gotten any more work done, but at least it's not all your guys' fault like usual.

Don't knock dream forecasts. I dreamed the result of one of the Merseyside Cup finals in the 80s as a 2-1 win for us with goals from Rushie and Craig Johnston. We won 3-1 with goals by...Rushie and Craig Johnston.

We are going to get twatted. I don't think I've ever felt such trepidation as this before prior to a United game, home or away, even when United were winning leagues and we were struggling to stay in the top half of the table. I also don't think I've ever been so depressed or negative about our chances but we've had absolutely shite luck so far this season and it's not letting up so I don't expect some 180 degrees tomorrow.

Mane out, our most influential player (as opposed to best, though he could be that too), is a massive psychological blow to the team, on top of average recent form, poor shooting boots, Lallana & Clyne out as well, possible concern within the team re. Coutinho & Can leaving, an utterly shite midfield and it seems everyone low on confidence. I can see that if something goes wrong early doors then it will be massively tough for us to get back into the game.

The team Klopp selects will be interesting (as will the bench) but I don't expect Mourinho to be as defensive as usual, he must realise we are there for the taking and it may be foolish to give us the impetus by sitting back. I foresee United controlling midfield and creating chances with us relying mostly on Salah or Coutinho to conjure up something (probably on a break). We'll lose by two goals.
