Damn, I wish I could watch this...

Bunny, this is perfect as mentioned earlier, but you seem to have to press channel 16 every now and again as it freezes:

Thanks Ian. But justinTV keeps going off - says there are too many viewers in France and I have to pay 10 dollars a month to continue watching!

Ha.

Finally got iraqgoals working, just as half-time arrives!

6-3 shots on target (to us), we haven't had a shot off target.

68% possession for us, but there are lots more goals in this...to both teams.

since he's a defensive coach rafa will have these frailties fixed in no time
I'm sure someone said that after the Spurs game.

The mistakes we are making are just numerous individual errors, poor headers, half clearing the ball, Lucas and Macsh out of position. There seems to be tons of space between our centrebacks and Masch.

They'll get chances in the second half if we continue playing like this at the back.

I thought Mascher wasn't playing?

It's clear we have our game plan for an early goal in these home games against the smaller clubs to aviod the number of frustrating home draws we had last season, it's just a shame that we look so shaky at the back.

What the hell has changed in defence to make us look so vulnerable?

And I know some think it's a good idea to not have Mascherano playing in these sort of games, but it just makes us look even more open.

1st half over

Carra Skrtel Johnson - 4
Insua Riera Benayoun - 7
Lucas Gerrard Kuyt - 6
Torres - 9
I wouldn't rate Gerrard that highly... A 5 at best by his standards... And Torres has passed some terrible balls today... goals aside

Sorry, your right SG and Lucas. The latter is occupying no-mans land, not really protecting the back 4.

I'm not convinced the idea's been tested as yet, nor is Lucas really good enough to demonstrate how much more effective we could be (Gerrard partnered with Aquilani will give a better indication) but I don't think the absence of Masher has cost us anyway thus far. Every threat seems to come from a mistake from the defence.

Lucas is meant to be helping out the back four but at least three times that half they had possession in the central area between midfield and defence unchallenged, where was he!?

Once again it is set pieces where we look vulnerable. Masher wouldn't help with that. Skrtel and Carra just don't look like they understand each other at all.

I agree that it's won't be truly tested until we see Gerrard and Aquilani, but in games like today's, the defence just seem exposed, I just think they might feel more protected and therefore confident if Mascherano was playing infront of them.

Spot on. There is so much space between him and the back 4 it's giving Geovanni space. He should also be tidying up outside of our box but isant doing that too well either.

shaky & nervous defensively! makes me very nervous every time they attack

but great goals from torres!

Daz Sports 1 on sopcast is brilliant quality and english, unfortunatly my internet doesn't seem able to keep up with it.

if they can't learn to deal with hull at home, without mash, then we should get new centre backs.
