Bar the odd moment, I thought Coutinho was comparatively quiet this week. If you give Coutinho space, he'll murder you, as Newcastle learned to their detriment. Everton paid him much closer attention, and were tighter all over the field. There were much fewer spaces for him to exploit, and I think he struggled to make an impact for much of the game.

Very true, but i'm glad coutinho experienced this game in the middle. He'll learn from it and develop his skills.

Also, even though he was closed down quickly, he still provided a decent few opportunites for us to score, sadly sturridge wasn't at the races

Quiet but he still created a lot of problems for Everton - his through ball to Sturridge was world class.

Ref was good, let the game flow.

Some cryin twats on here. People forgetting Suarez should have been sent off at goodison.

Shit game, fair result. No boxing in town and merseyside police happy *ok*

Good stuff but why on earth would there be?

Distin pushed Carra out of the way just as the corner was hit and climbed all over him when he headed the ball. Anichebe was blocking Reina aswell. Seemed a right desicion to me. Protesting a refs call can usually result in a booking?

Gerrards wasnt a yellow either.

There's always one.

Carra was protesting every decision and didn't get booked

It looked like Anciebe was booked because he grabbed the ref orcatbkwast tugged on his arm.

To be fair, none of our players made a meal out of any of Feelyfanni's antics, which is why the ref probably missed them.

That saying - Riena just fell over for the goal - which probably should have stood .

Would be what? Boxing? Have you never been to town after a derby?

Yes, Boxing. Yeah, have been a few times. Last one being the 2-2 at Goodison earlier in the season - went to Wetherspoons after where there were loads of Liverpool and Everton fans mingling and everything seemed calm.

I know Derby games means more to the locals and they're intense affairs but actually fighting one another? Fucking hell.

Worst I ever saw was may 2001 in Manchestoh, genuinely scared.

Not a derby though.

Anyone slagged Johnson yet? Because I'm going to. He was fucking shit.
Apparently Tony Evans from The Times said yesterday at The Anfield Wrap Live show that Glen Johnson is one of the players on the way out in the summer.

Fine by me. Let's not turn this into a 'Riise'. Glen's time looks to be up.
