Torres and Gerrard immense
Very nice substitutions by Roy. As if to show the boss that he's giving youngsters a chance. Kelly, Ngog, Jonjo, Shelvey. Instead of Jovanovic and Poulsen.
That win is like a monsoon, a big wet thundercloud cos Uncle Budgie Woy won't get sacked.

When a Manc friend of mine e-mailed me before the game anticipating a thrashing for us, I said I thought we wouldn't lose. I'm now going to remind him. 8)

Indeed so but they were not alone.
Can't remember ever seeing Lucas play with such power, grit and awareness.
Kelly is really underlining why we all have high hopes for him. I'm so happy for him. Carra and Skrtel was mostly assured and Konchesky played his best game so far.
Kuyt is a world class player really and Meireles and Maxi did theirs too.
Reina saved us when it mattered - again - and even when the young subs arrived they all did well too.

Huge performance and huge result. Chelsea were poor in the first half and we took advantage. In the second half, they put us under immense pressure and we (somehow) resisted. Felt at times like we were battling Sauron, but wtf, we WON! I am so fucking happy.
A lot of heroes out there today, but I think Kuyt was the one who made the difference. Gave Torres the support he needed; created the first goal; bailed out Kelly when it looked like he was about to drown in a torrent of Chelsea attackers. And all that in his first match back from injury. Incredible. I still don't think he's all that good at football, but he's got bollocks the size of beach balls.
