27 pages on Tapatalk and I can't believe that Origi isn't very good hasn't been posted yet.

Stewart is a really puzzling player.

At times he looks like exactly what you'd expect from a 22/23 randomer from the reserves.

At others, he looks pretty capable.

Hmm.

Yeah, agreed . I was very impressed with his performance yesterday.
That's the kind of performance he put on earlier in the season that caught my eye.

His two passes to Origi and Firmino were brilliant. Played very well yesterday

There was another pass for Ings that was pretty neat too. But yeah – that pass to Firmino would have made Coutinho's highlight reel. And the weight of the pass to Origi was so perfect that Divock didn't have to touch the ball until he was 1 on 1 with the keeper – and that's after a tackle to win the ball! Defensively he was very good, good positioning and always alert. Got nutmegged by Messi once near the centre-circle but that happens to the best of them.

Based on this performance, I would even consider starting him against Arsenal. Can is still a few weeks behind other players on fitness (same situation as Giroud, Ozil and other Arsenal players who went deep in the Euros and therefore won't be playing), even if he does start he is not going to last a full game with the required intensity.

I'd like to think Stewart is benefitting from some klopp tailored training. That could well just be wishful thinking though.

As a side note, Klopp's English was never poor, but it's definitely improved. He's not having to stop & look for a word he wishes to say anymore mid sentence, that presser clip above looks quite different to those he gave when he first arrived.

Stewart's not that young - I think he's 24 and has been on the books of a couple of clubs before signing for Liverpool.

Seems like he's one of those "late developers" who can turn out very well.

Oh right, I can't remember ever hearing of him before. Saw a bit of the game yesterday and was thinking "Who is that? He's quite good!"

I just googled Stewart. He will be 23 next month. He originally signed for Tottenham but was loaned out several times before he came to us.

Not great prep to play at Wembley till 7pm then fly to Germany to play again at 2.45

What a weird decision.

After finally recovering from the match and ensuing night out with the Irish, a few observations.

The attendance was officially sponsored by....

The stadium announcer just pre kick off was American and sounded like a Super Bowl announcer.

The crowd was a bit weird. Loads of families which was great, an opportunity for many to see LFC and/or Barca without having to travel too far. But, and I'm going to sound a bit pompous/superfan here, this is how I imagine Anfield could get if we carry on pricing out locals.

Mexican waves? Icelandic clapping? Embarrassing. Yes it as a friendly, but...

Anyway, feel free to shoot me down, debate or argue with me.

Finally, that's two nights out with the Irish and both times I've been broken but they were great fun. Cheers for sorting me out with a ticket @ILD not so cheers for letting me drag you lot round tourist London until stupid o'clock

Great little trip.

The heat in Wembley was unbearable. The Lying Rag was beating down on me for nearly 90 mins. We had no shade where we sat. Me, Brizzle, Aidan, Del (bearded dragon) and our friend Pool all sat together. Lallana was very good in the first half. He, along with Mane stood out for me. Milner was running the whole left side. Coutinho was poor enough.

We met Jon then for pints and gallivanted around London, drinking pints, Jager, Vodka etc til about 3am. A few of us then hit the Casino til about half four. LONG DAY.

All 'n all, great trip.

Are we doing drinkies this year? If so I presume it's West Ham 10th Dec.

There is a new ticket purchasing system this season which allows locals ie anyone with a L address postcode only, to buy tickets for every game so that should increase the level of locals attending all games.

I'll be going to a different Drinkies! Glad you found a casino, I was nailed by that time.

Tell me about it. We just lost all control at the end.
At the end? I believe control was lost the moment someone (you!) said "take us to bars in central London John!"

I actually believed after the game I might be home by ten pm. I didn't think the night would end at 10am the next morning!
