Liverpool v West Bromwich Albion Match Thread

I said last year Can should never be on the pitch against teams that sit back and try and stop us playing.

He's proved yet again that I was right in that regard.

He takes too many touches, doesn't move the ball on quickly enough and isn't anywhere near creative enough.

I won't miss him when he's gone.

He's not good enough for the position he is playing in for us

Can was not the issue. Not even close.

Oddly enough, I thought we missed Henderson tonight - ball was moving too slowly and at least he moves it quickly.

The 2 most smug twats in football - Fat Sam and Pardew, will believe now more than ever that they're are some kind of football masterminds. So fucking infuriating we are dropping points against these teams.

That I'm not having

Henderson does not move the ball quickly

One midfielder being shit doesn't mean another shit midfielder is a better option

What an idiotic comment - I mean the many titles won over the last few years were all won by Chelsea, Manure etc winning every game 5-0. They never won ugly games 1-0 ... Let's talk about Firmino and how flabby he is.

Yeah cause we are killing it with the 1-0's aren't we.

Back to back home draws against the Allardyce and Pardew schools of bus parking.Poor stuff and we are quickly falling away.

I don't think Henderson is the messiah - but I think he moves the ball quicker than Gini and Can, who are more indecisive.

two games in a row, ref will cost us points ...
Dreamy will call this a handball, so will Pete, but bullshit.

I was at the game mate so haven’t seen a replay yet. Looked like it defo hit his hand from where I was but not sure it was deliberate.

I’ll watch a replay when I’ve warmed up.

Anyway, we were fucking shite. Simple as that.

I know that game just happened n all, but it's weird cos I've seen that exact same game eighteen hundred million times before.
Yea we all have. A bus comes along and parks and we cant get through it.

Not to say others weren't poor, they were but they had an off day and can do so much better.

That's Can's standard display in these games we need better, much better.

Our attacks started with him and he gave us fuck all but a slick hair cut.

Agree but even he doesn't have what we need and is limited in that role.

I'm wondering if Keita can play a box to box type role from that position

They have done this a lot - in fact the only time we score against teams who do play like the way WBA/Everton do is either through:-

1) Individual shots where one of our players has a 'moment'
2) one-touch passing and quick movement - no passing it around the bus wall but moving through the wall with pin point passing - examples that come to mind:-

a) Chelsea game for Salah's goal.
b) The one goal we scored against Leicester at their ground last season ( a match we lost but the build up to Coutinho's goal). Its the only way against these teams - unless we do it from crosses and corners.

moron.

As Brendan said, momentum well and truly extinguished due to fucking around with the team last couple of games. Completely on Klopp. Oh well.

No not really - messing with the team has done no such thing - that is just Brendan's way of finding fault in Klop. The difference has been that the momentum we had was because we played teams that did not have the required defensive discipline/coaching that was required in those games so we won with high score. Everton and WBA have new managers so players want to prove themselves to their new manager and put that extra effort in especially against a side like ours. Klopp's changes don't amount to much at all in both of these games, its just that some of the posters here just want to prove they were correct to critisize Klopp for not selecting the 'fab 4' in the last game - and today they had their wish and we looked inept. We actually looked better when Ox, and Solanke came on.

Some of you just seem to want to get rid of the manager - do you guys have someone lined up ? - some of us would love to hear the names of those managers.

So he picks he fab 4 and he's a twat. He doesn't pick them he's a twat. There's a lot of shite talked around here. We didn't have a good night. We were much better in the derby with the supposedly shite team. We're still going to win the Champion's league.

I feel he was kind of forced into selecting them to be honest. Seriously - I just knew when I saw the teamsheet that this was a most probable result. As @Ryan said - he feels like he has seen this played out a million or more times. We all have - the team actually play no differently from last season - we have been lucky that some of Salah's trickery has come good to get those individual goals to break the deadlock. The movement in the final third is just fucking static - just watching man city - they pass and move - pass and move. Ours pass and move and stand still in a pre-determined position - just watch us against busses - it's the same old shit over and over again by the four (sometimes three) midgets up front. We need something different to counter it all.

Right, if you don't get it, then frankly you're a bit retarded...

The team was on a great run of form, culminating in the game last week against Spartak. Instead of taking players off during that game when it was already won, he kept them on and instead rested them for the derby. Do you think Coutinho and Firmino were happy about being on the bench for the derby? Whatever way you slice it, the team that played the derby wasn't good enough to win - because, well, we drew. Now, after upsetting the momentum generated by our great run by messing with the team, possibly also upsetting a couple of the players in the process, he reverted back to the "first eleven". They hadn't played together in a week and they looked out of sorts. Maybe one or two were perhaps miffed at the previous team selection. I certainly would have been.

Sure you have to rotate from time to time, and I get that and agree with it. But it also has to be at the right time. The right time to rest players was after about 50 minutes of the Spartak game so they were fresh for the derby. If there were any knocks or concerns, rest them against West Brom tonight.

Instead, Klopp looks like a bit of a bell now. We've dropped four points against relegation fodder, largely because he messed with the team. He had to win the derby with that team selection and he didn't. He had to win tonight after the derby and he didn't. I don't want to hear about referees or missed chances. Klopp has ballsed up these past few days. And I'm a massive Klopp fan. I wouldn't swap him for any other manager in world football.

Just read this properly. As I've said in my previous post, I wouldn't swap Klopp for anybody else.

Jesus. Do you feel better after that long post of turdness? He needs to mix it up. It is bullshit to assume we would have continued Spartak style because Spartak played our ultimate game. They charged forward repeatedly. Neither of these cunts did.

And I didn't necessarily want all of the "Fab Four" (hate that term) to play the derby. My issue was with the team as a whole. It was a midfield devoid of any urgency or creativity, and our striker hadn't scored a goal in the premiership. Still hasn't. As a result, he made a rod for his own back with that selection, and now piled on extra scrutiny for future teamsheets.

Plus, the team didn't even play well in the derby, so he can't even point to that.
