FFS. Spurs have switched to 4 at the back, that'll suit them much more.
Yep said it earlier, something is wrong with the midfield set-up...Spurs seem to find acres of space to break in midfield, scary...

Are they too flat? They need to spread out more intelligently.
I'd argue it's cos it's hard to score a 'normal' goal against this Spurs defence more than wanting it to look good. You have to force space by playing quick intricate passes to drag players about to get the chance, which will often fall a bit further away than you'd ideally like.
They're flat on purpose, the main purpose defensively is to stop the through balls to the front, which is how Spurs make a lot of their chances.
They're more likely to score from one of our cock ups than from good play currently

Yep, that after international break rust is our biggest enemy.
This gameplan is working brilliantly, forcing them in to only playing the areas that they get the least joy from when they attack, & attacking ourselves by switching the play to open them up, at times we try to play those through balls we love so much, but that's not how we'll force them into coughing up a second.

Idk if the scoreline was reversed would we be happy with that performance, obviously not. Of course we can't expect to bish bash bosh a team like Spurs so easily but I was concerned we looked a little off in midfield. We need to lock that area down.
Don't get me wrong we are playing well players wise, I see players giving their all but I feel something is missing tactically from Klopp I'm that midfied...Spurs are dangerous breaking from midfied.

Solid first half. Pretty even match overall but we've had a couple nice chances. Mane could have ended it with that bender from outside the box.
I think if we are a little more clinical there it's two or three nil & we're all made up with that.
Unfortunately, Spurs switched to the four at the back after about half an hour & looked much better since then, so they will be much improved second half, we need to step it up a bit & get another couple to make this game safe.
