Virgil van Dijk will start tonight’s game, according to a report in the Daily Mail. The rumours had been going around all day and it now appears to have been firmed up.
Both Neil and I were saying in yesterday’s pod that we’d throw him in, so fairly happy to see him given the nod. If true, of course.

Bit surprised TBH. However who's going to be his partner is now the big question ? I'd suggest Lovren for the Everton game since VVD will almost certainly be LCB. And Matip thereafter.
 
With all the transfer talk, this match has slipped under the radar. It would be good to win a trophy this year and with it being Everton, klopp at least has to pick a few first team players, which is a good thing.
 
Van Dijk will score a brace and we'll smash them.

Incidentally, what do you read VVD as in your head? I can't help but read it as Van Der Vaart. Do you see that and think "Virgil van Dijk", or "vee vee dee"?
 
Milner and Can. Sounds like a bad cop show.

Anyway Everton might have the only midfield that’s too slow to just run past them.
