Weren't people kicking off the other day against Roma that milners handball wasn't a pen?

Two very different incidents in my opinion, but how can you give one and not the other?
I dont think even the refs know the handball rule anymore, which shows.

Nah. Practically the same, one was a cross and the other was a shot

Just like people saying one definitely was, and the other definitely wasn't

Milner’s arm wasnt in the same position.
Regardless, if thats a pen - todays is a stone wall one

My power was out for much of the second half. Thanks national grid. What's the situation with Henderson, he shake that off? Everyone else fine?

He twisted his ankle. In his post match interview he didn't seem down about it and said he thought he'll be okay for midweek.

Big difference. In the Milner incident, if his hand wasn't there, the ball would have hit his stomach (as it largely did). For this Stoke one, if the hand wasn't there, the ball would have gone through free space to Firmino in the six yard box.

We knew it would be a flat game, which is why it's difficult to gauge whether it's even worth risking your bigger players. They have one eye on the next game and not overexerting themselves or risking injury. We clearly took three knocks that I saw during the game, to Henderson, TAA and Salah and walked away with a point and fairly drab pointless performance.

At the minute it just seems to be about getting through these games and hoping we nick a point or three and hoping we don't get fucked by a bad injury.

I don't really know what's the right or wrong way to play this. Do we rest players for the CL completely and just hope we don't throw away the top four? It's finely balanced and we might just do it anyway without having to go all out in the last two games, but we could try and put it to bed against Chelsea and get beat by a decent team anyway and end up with a few more in the treatment room. I'm genuinely flummoxed, there is no right or easy answer.

One things for sure, our squad is getting a bit thin on the ground and without AOC and Mane, we're short of genuine pace on the break. Salah is better over short bursts and running beyond the defense, we've got no one who will now actually drive at teams and put them on the back foot. The one or two times we tried it today was through Milner and Moreno, and both just overran the ball and got dispossessed.

It would be a bit of a travesty if we fuck up at the last hurdle through a sheer lack of quality in reserve.

A loss today would have taken in out of our own hands, so as Klopp said, that point could end up being very important.

A loss today and it would still have been in our own hands. A loss today AND a loss vs chavs next week would have taken it out of our hands.
As it is, a draw next week sees us home, barring a mathematical miracle for Chelsea

Yeah, I meant that its in our own hands regardless of how the Chelsea game goes.
We dont have to get a result in that game which takes some of the pressure off.

Well that did not go too well did it ? - it's watching us play games like this that you get an understanding why we have not won the title for 28 years.

Putting aside the talk of players being tired and the missed chances, - you have to question the build up play and you realize that ultimately that is where Man City have got it sorted. First of all - Henderson was the only one putting in the effort and despite having a holding role was actually trying to progress the ball forward. There were numerous times when Firminio was running into space in the middle but no one was willing to take a risk to pass to him because the ball might move forward !!! - I was fucking going mental watching this shit. The build up was so slow - you could build a new stand in that time - there is tiredness and then there is proper lazy shit.

You ask the question why we cannot beat these lower teams - it ain't only about having creative Coutinho type players as with him we even fucked up these types of games more regularly - predominately it's about how quickly players move before the opposition can adjust. If the league is the ultimate indicator of our improvement this season then coming 4th clearly demonstrates we are still stuck in the same situation as last season we finished on 76 points - and on the assumption that the team will lose to Chelsea next week - then we will finish on 75 points. There is no doubting it - we should have won both these last two league games. Too many draws this season.

Fuck knows - - we all want a CL win , but I really don't know now, just worried if Roma figured us out by the end of the game on Tuesday night giving them the platform for a comeback.

Yes, Moron, you hit the nail on the head ...too many draws this year, 12 so far...that's 24 points dropped. If we'd have managed to get half of those points (extra 12) then second place would have been secured, an upgrade on last year and a credible challenge to City
