Liverpool v Manchester United - Match Thread

I think Ox is being under appreciated here. He was fantastic until he subbed off. I thought the midfield three were all immense, contributed their strengths, and as unit had full control of the game.

The game changed when Ox went off. Hopefully, he was just exhausted and the ankle just a bit sore.

I would give them all 9s along with Firmino, VVD and Gomez. Our FBs and wide forwards were unusually poor today.
Ox was just above par, Lallana came on and was worse. Didn't see much of Fabs and Origi.

Think Ox was significantly better than that, especially early on when they were getting a small foothold in the game.

Was only commenting on the starters (and Lallana, I suppose)

Here's the little argument they had:

Carra just comes across like a bit of a dick there to be fair

I like everyone else despised Neville and keane as players but as pundits the pair of them usually talk a fair bit of sense

It’s ok, I will just watch it on the TV, like.

We don’t get the same coverage in Australia- we had Michael Owen & Robyn Van Persie for the aftermatch and interviews with John Barnes.

Think OGS has set up well for both games against us this year. I'm not sure that he is the issue, although perhaps a question whether he can attract the talent they need. Especially, when his position is continually questioned.

I dunno, I expect more from Ox. There's such a high bar set on our players now. He's not making it hard for Fabs to get back into the team.
You could see his disappointment at his own performance when he was subbed. I don't think that tantrum was about wanting to stay on the pitch.

I laughed at Carra's sly dig at Maguire when he lost the header to Van Dijk "the cheaper one won it".
Also "Salah you dancer", but it's a bit much to be honest.

The problem with Ox is - he has moments in games that make him seem very good but nothing so great where we can say he deserves a permanent fixture. He does lose the ball quite often and many of his dribbles dont work out that well. When he scores... then great,, but a lot of the time he goes missing or his contributions are not that impressive like Hendo or Gini.

Is that the first "we're gonna win the league" chant?
I don't like it - as you say later 10 wins in 16 seems like a lot, and is no way a "given". Plus - its mid-January ... its ridiculous to think of celebrating mid-January when your nearest challenger won their last 14 the previous season to stop you, and is coming off record points seasons,
But hearing that song as Salah was celebrating the killer goal against United, I got goose-bumps. Still - one game at a time - hopefully that song will gain in intensity the next several weeks.

I really, really, REALLY didn't like them singing that. Part of the strength of this team, and the fans seemed to follow in their stead, was that they are taking each game as it comes, treating it like a final.

Now we get a load of jinxy meffs singing that in mid-January as a record-breaking City team chase us. The Gods are not going to be happy at all. Did we not learn anything last year? The Rodgers year?

The implosion is going to be the biggest ever. It's literally going to claim lives. I tried to warn you all.
