Liverpool v Birmingham.

"the lucky general"

What the fuck are they on about, I detest this moniker. The fact that he gets results when he really needs them, is because he is a good manager that doesn't lose many games.

And as for this season, Rafa hasn't had much luck at all. Liverpool have been forgotten by god.

For fucks sake, the Gods really are against us. This game reeks of the Villa game earlier on in the season. My trepidation with regards this fixture was right. FUCK OFF.
The difference being that Villa completely outplayed us. Birmingham have hardly had a sniff.

We could easily be a few goals up, as per our woeful defending from setpieces has let us down. How many is that now? The second goal was just a wonder goal.

And if that cunt on ESPN goes on once more about Benitez being lucky, I'm gonna smash the fucking TV.

I sadly agreed with Brendan here ... We've controlled the game with players who just cannot take advantage of opportunities.

This has a chance of being devastating.
The same players are controlling the game mate.

Two goals out of nowhere, sums us up. I just don't understand what Rafa's even meant to say to the players, it's not like we're not playing well enough to win.

Benayoun and Riera have been pretty wank, we may have controlled but done nothing with it

hopefully Gerrard will do something and maybe Aquilani when he comes on, they're dire at the back.

We've played well in the first half. Much better than we did against Burnley or Hull - and we won those matches easily. I think it *is* mostly just bad luck. Jerome could hit that ball a thousand times, and the other 999 times it would go out for a corner.

We've still got 45 minutes to get the result we deserve, but it's going to be a test of character (again). This amount of shit luck saps your confidence after a while. It starts to feel like fate...

pepe has not been the same this season strange no one seems to notice on here ; we will still win today 4-2

Anyone who thinks he can 'rely' on players like Insewer, Lucarse, Voronin, Eggnog, skittles and Casper does not deserve luck, because those players are at best inconsistent or average, and at worst, a fucking travesty in a red shirt

And as a Kuyt fan, it gives me no pleasure to say that he has been largely poor in the last month or two

Too many shit players

One man's fault

Rafa/ one of the players needs to speak up well in this break. Morale must be pretty low and we need to storm them in the second half to get the goals we are very capable of scoring.

We need a new CB. That first goal was the last straw for me.
Yup. Teams are actually lobbing the ball into our box these days, knowing that there's every chance we won't deal with it. Situations like today's should be bread and butter for defenders.

We need a Sami clone. Someone big and dominant in the air (not the Greek).

I wouldn't even say that, they just defended well and caught us on the counter. A goal from nowhere at the end of the first half, Lucas giving away a stupid free kick from which we cannot defend and they score from. It's the same story all over again.

We can say we're unlucky, but if you can't put away your chances and then don't defend the few chances a shit team like Birmingham get, you deserve to get beat.

Reina has been excellent this season, and was positioned well. You didn't object to his positioning when his agressive closing caused Jerome not to score when clear through.

Yes, god he's been irritating hasn't he? From start to finish. Making out Benitez only had Gerrard on the bench 'to prove a point to Capello,' going nuts over the fact Brum have a player called Benitez, sneering at every moment he could... SHUT UP Champion!

Oh fuck off Brendan. Yossi has been ace for about a year, and Wash has played really well tonight.

That's a load of bollocks. Fair enough, Skrtel's had a poor season, Insua and N'Gog are kids though (and N'Gog just scored a fucking peach, what the fuck else is he meant to do?), Voronin isn't even playing and has been relied on in the league once. Lucas has done ok, we all know the partnership is wrong though and Yossi has carried us enough times in the last 12 months.

It's just shit luck tonight, get the fuck over it.

He'd definitely be an option, yeah. Expensive though I suspect.

Yeah. It's the same thing every game now and infuriatingly, we seem powerless to do anything about it.

We really shouldn't be regretting letting go of a 35yold CB at the end of his career like this. For fucking fucks sake.
