I'm inexplicably pumped about tonight.

I don't think we'll go through. I feel sorry for Fernando for missing yet another couple of ties against Atletico. Plus we'd stand a much better chance if he was playing, of course.

Nope, still can't get overly excited about this Europa League thingy, the only comfort I'm taking at the moment is that Bayern missed out on 4th place 3 seasons ago and ended up in the EUFA Cup 2 seasons ago because of it, maybe we can follow their example and make it to the CL final in 2012.

If we win this trophy we will have played in SIX European finals (yeah I'm counting super cups what of it?) and won FIVE in a decade. Surely no other team can have done that ever?

Oh gawd. They were there for the taking last week. We really needed an away goal.

If Nando, was playing i'd fancy us heavily to score 4 or 5 (they truly are woeful at the back). But with our attack (without him), we'll score 2 goals maximum (if all things are equal). I just hope we can keep a clean sheet at the other end.

I have no doubt that if they do start with that quartet they will score but as ibromurph points out they are very dodgy at the back and we could still qualify if Atletico score.

Im letting my 4 year old stay up tonight for the first time ever to watch a game.
She'll fall asleep by about half time i bet but bless her, shes been banging on about how brilliant Liverpool are and how torres is a 'magic can' all day coz she heard it on LFCTV one time.

SO its on like donkey kong. Me and the nipper and heartbreak for the espanols.
