It's really disappointing they lost. They didn't deserve that because they played great for over 100 mins of that match. If only we could finish better this would have been over in the 90 though.

If wouldn’t have been so shit a few weeks ago we wouldn’t have needed extra time.

You might all think I'm been a cxxt but I'd like to say thanks to Adrian but get the fuck out of my club and close the door on the way out.

Also I think who ever posted it this European Cup will be scrapped as the virus is going to take a hold sadly

Disappointing.

But that's what happens when you cheap out on a goalkeeper.

It's cost us a CL title 2 years ago, and knocked us out of both the FA cup and CL this year.

Hopefully Jurgen won't be so nice and we sign a 2nd GK who can actually be competent at this level.

I think Adrian is a nice fella. But he's made a mistake in nearly every game he's played.

Should closed up shop after we went 2 - 0 up, we didn't and played the price for it.
Neither central defender had any part to play in either of their first two goals

Lay off Adrian, people. Players make mistakes, that's football. And lack of clinical finishing up front was just as big a reason for us going out. Also have to credit Atletico - they were fucking clinical.

BTW I thought Ox was fantastic. Possibly his best game in a Liverpool shirt.

Yeah I thought he was class. Firmino and Salah just missing that click in the box we needed to win easier

That said, being able to win and then not winning sucks unbelievably

Yeah, Adrian should be laid off. Correct.

I don't harbour any hate against Adrain, he's a backup goalkeeper and played a decent part in the unbeaten run when some were commenting joking if Allisson should walk back in. Can you get better backup goalkeepers anyways, what decent goalkeeper is going to want to sit on the bench and watch allision all season long? Look at Uniteds Henderson on loan at Sunderland, he left to get some game time, but do you really think Henderson will be happy to sit on the bench at United after the season he has had? De Gea is on 300k a week hes playing every game!

Who's that then? I'm always intrigued when his idea comes up. Who's at the top of your list?
Mignolet. We had him. I would have kept him.

We needed someone of his level to be number 2.

A GK experienced at the CL level. He doesn't have to be world class. Just competent enough when needed. Not someone released by West Ham. The guy has made a mistake in nearly every game he's played and we signed him on a free having spent 0 in the summer.

Tonight and in the FA cup it has cost us.

Agree on OX, but Adrians mistake screwed our heads, it was totally out of nowhere. But agree the abuse is too much, given how well he did for us in the league when he had to step in for Alisson at the start.

Agree Ox played very well, but the issue about being clinical, its hard for me to have ago at them, because of the confined spaces they had to deal with. Overall Salah, Mane had very good periods and ran their defence ragged.

Hold on, I thought it was commonly accepted here that Adrian was an improvement on Mignolet?

Personally I'm not sure, BTW. Ming has certainly made his share of costly mistakes. But he also had his strengths which people sometimes didn't want to acknowledge. All things considered, I would probably still prefer Adrian as a back-up, just because of his a lot more positive personality.

Well I disagree. There are levels to Goalkeeping.

Adrian's level and experience is that of a West Ham 2nd choice GK.

Mignolet for all his faults is a GK that has gone to World cups and International tournaments, has played at the top level consistently. He'd dropped maybe 4 or 5 clangers a season. Not one every game.

Then it's on the other players and not on Adrian. At 2:1 we still had 15 minutes to find another goal, instead we conceded two. The players lost their heads in a couple of moments, but also have to credit Atletico for being razor-sharp with their counters.

Also we had 34 shots, its easy to look at Alisson but when a team has 34 shots and scores 2 goals can you only blame the goalkeeper. For me this match reflects a theme we have seen for a while that when we play a team that defends week and counters well we are suspect. I think we are lacking a killer dribbler in midfield. I hate to say his name but if we had a coutinho type to pull of the bench, midfielder who offers something totally different other than maling a 50 yard pass then we might have been able to have scored more goals.

But yes 34 shots, we should have scored more...

It was hard getting one goal against them the way they were defending, and we had just scored in extra time. You know football?, can get very tiring chasing and running for over 90 minutes. Perhaps we were to zelous in trying to get that third goal, and should have defended a bit to calm it down and wait to counter them, coz they would have had to come out anyway.

Just want to add those 3 goals they scored, it was very much like the Wartford game in that last period. We just lost the plot and they took their chances very well.

To be honest Ox was our man who did that running at them, but you could only do it for a certain amount of time.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!! That would have been liked to handing the school bully in this place your week's worth of sarnies!
Laugh all you want but i expect Adrian to be upgraded in the summer.

He's proven incapable of playing at the highest level when the pressure is on.

Even the Super cup he almost cost us giving away a penalty.

Like i said, lovely fella but we must improve. I get that the number 2 will never be the level of the number 1. But the minimum I'd expect of a number 2 is he is experienced at the highest level.

Pretty much all the other top clubs have 2nd GKs who have had international caps for their country. That's the level we should be dealing with.
