Liverpool U21 vs City U21

I think we may see a fair number of the younger players given a chance this season given the lack of depth in the squad, if even 1 or 2 can make the step up that potentially saves us about £20m in transfer fees to go to areas that desperately need improvement. not that we have any of those that spring to mind

LFC U21 team: Stephens, Wisdom, Sama, Sololik, Robinson; Ibe, Coady, Roddan, Pelosi; Adorjan, Ngoo

Commentator mentioned that Yesil was away on international duty and is expected to play in the game against Chelsea on Friday I think.

Ngoo is playing well.

He's effective in what he does in an awkward looking way. He looks like he'd trip over himself anytime but somehow he manages to stay up and protect the ball most of the time when challenged. Good to see that despite playing with the big man up front, we're mostly playing it to his feet.

Sama seems to have improved a lot since last season. He used to look a bundle of nerves and mistake-prone but now looks pretty assured.

Some neat passes by Adorjan as well; nice assist for Pelosi's goal.

Thought Coady started off pretty poorly but has grown into the game as it progressed. Superb tackle in the middle of the park earlier on.

Yeah I think it was me 'cos I remember hearing it mentioned during the Arsenal game.

The commentator for this game mentioned Yesil being away on international duty with Germany and that he'll be in the Chelsea game this Friday. Can't remember any mention of Assaidi though.

1 - 2 City; Sama with a body check / block giving away a penalty which Suarez tucked away. We had a similar shout for a penalty turned down before that though. Pretty boring 2nd half; not much happening other than the goal and a couple of shouts from us for penalties.

2 - 2. Ngoo worked really hard to create the opportunity for Pelosi, who made a good run to the near post to meet Ngoo's cross from the bye line.

He looks decent Pelosi, is he the american boy?

Adorjan has nice control

If we don't pick up a freebie ST, we should have Ngoo on the bench just so we can have ONE striker on the bench!

Where does McLaughlin usually play? At RB isn't it? He seems equally comfortable at RM even given the short time he's been on the pitch.

2 - 2 it ends. Quite evenly matched though we had them on the backfoot after our equalizer.

Adorjan, Ngoo, Pelosi and Sama played well, and I was impressed by McLaughlin's - good pace and looked to attack their fullback whenever he had the chance.

We play Chelsea on Friday and Yesil will probably feature in that game.

Yea RB he looks a bit of a steve finnan to me. You can definitely see him displacing johnson over the long term, good on the ball and very fit.
