Liverpool have never sacked a manager mid season

For the record, Houllier was the first manager Liverpool sacked in about 60 years.

Sounness left, as did Evans. Obviously Daglish quit too. The word 'sacked' is mentioned in the title of the thread.

As far as Roy goes, 2 weeks ago I was defending him, saying give him a chance. See how we got on in the next 2 games at Anfield. To only take 1 point from them is disgraceful. Now I think is time to possibly make a change.

Martin O'Neill would be my choice. Every time he's gone into a he's made an impact straight away.

I can't believe he hasn't just resigned already. It's the only decent thing to do.

Btw, what are the other LFC forums saying about Roy? Surely we can't be the only ones

He's not going to resign for 2 reasons.

One is the obvious payout, and the second reason is he will feel he will be looked on as a quitter and his time at Liverpool was a failure. He will want the chance to turn it around.

Roy Evans went in November too

So we've never got rid of a manager mid-season, apart from 2 out of the last 5.

facts wrong again shocker from you. Houllier was the first manager sacked by us in decades. All others left on their own decision. So my title is correct.

As you were....

I agree Roy needs points now, starting at blue shite but I do not want to become a sacking club after a 7 league matches

We always pride ourselves on our traditions why change now

So in terms of "facts wrong" your thread title (Re: Liverpool have never sacked a manager mid season) is in fact.....wrong.

What a coincidence! The word that best describes you rhymes with wrong!

because keeping this club in this league is more important than fucking traditions.

Reina should be player/care-taker manager.

I had a nightmare a few years back that sammy lee was our manager, anything but that 😱

Then snap capello up

Now we are clinging to technicalities.

Souness and Evans may have resigned but i doubt many were begging for them to stay. The fans certainly weren't.

Sacked officially or not they went because the team was doing shite and actually in both cases it wasn't due to the 'Liverpool Way' that they stayed on, it was due to Moores not having the balls to sack anyone!

In the case of Evans especially, if actually appointing a successor with his own staff WHILE YOU ARE STILL THERE isn't a sacking in everything but name then i don't know what is!

So we have never done this, we are not usually a sacking club full of knee jerk reaction without giving a manager a real go.

We are not Newcastle, we do not have two or three managers per year or two.

We should keep Roy until next season where we will see how he goes, have new owners and a new direction.

We will not be relegated or get in top 4 probably. We will probably match last year by getting in Uefa cup.

Roy has not started well, he is struggling. But, Rafa would have struggled with the form of Torres and losing Masher.

Lets not become a mad sacking club along with the soap opera of "put the club legend in charge " ala Shearer,Keegan

Keep calm and wait and see, its going to hurt a bit more yet

[/quote]

Fuck tradition, its keeping to tradition that has arguably hurt us in the past. He simply has to go..

Win or Lose against Everton (more likely lose), he is out of his Depth here..

Lose to Everton and I think his position will become untenable with the clubs supporters. Win and he might just be able to win a few around and build from there.

My concern is we could not afford to pay him off even if the club wanted to.

Liverpool has never been in the relegation zone? What about when they got relegated?

Oh, and how many roy hodgson threads are there now? About 5?
