Based on this thread & my mates coming we're looking at 14 minimum & 18 maximum mate.
If there's a potential lock in I've no doubt I'll be able to convince my mates to come too

Cos I was assuming the former, as if we win town afterwards is a cert for me for the atmosphere.

I'm over with one mate, but we panicked and booked the German place as soon as Jon suggested it. We were over in 2007 and we hit the bars around one and by 2 we couldn't go anywhere else as the queues were too long. We will be around the town all day so if we did get somewhere decent we have no obligation to go there

We went to Walkabout (RIP) and we decided to leave after our first pint, but we went to the door and saw that the queue to get in was down the street and round the corner, so we decided to stay there in case we couldn't get somewhere else.
We went to Camp and Furnace in 2014 after a recommendation on here, but it was also rammed silly.
Ah that explains it. Just checked with my mate & we got in the Flute at about 3 but they only allowed one in one out after 4. He was much less drunk than I was so remembers more clearly.
Im just sussing out all options. Return flight to Brum is €100.
So, to sum up, we have these options:
1. Squiggles gets us all camp & Furnace tickets & we buy him drinks all night.
2. Skully gets us an entire bar on smithdown Road to ourselves.
3. We go to town as early as possible & try to pace ourselves by drinking blackcurrant & soda every other round whilst fighting off people to protect our turf.
4. We give in & pay £20 per head to guarantee entry into a bar (the bierkeller place) & pre load with drinks then turn up about 6 instead.

I'd be more up for that if they didn't have it opening at 11.

It is a crazy start time. People will be asleep by 6pm because everyone will be hitting the ale as soon as they get.
Ha. I was just trying to convince her to put ILD & possibly others up but she's having none of it.
Andy is staying in ours but he's stayed over loads.
Tbf she'd be fine if we could ship the kids off for the night but the younger ones don't stay out yet.
