Just flicked through Corrie. Epic episode in fairness.
I remember Corrie when Len Fairclough was killed in a car crash and Rita was shattered. I also remember when Brian Tylsley was killed in a nightclub. And I remember when the Mike Baldwin / Deidre Barlow affair was the talk of the town... Wow, I'm getting old!
Brian was killed outside a nightclub. Heavy shit. I remember when that bonkers in the nut bloke chased Rita to Blackpool and got hit by a tram............A TRAM!!!
ha ha ha

happy days
How ya gonna get hit by a tram.
That's true, trams are so slow even the tracks get out of the way sometimes.

It says a lot for how slow that Rita was.
HAHAHAHA. She had gone nutty'er than squirrel shit by then bless her.

I used to like you Squiggles!

My problem is I can't quite decide if I love him or hate him at this point
I'm sorry.

And love and hate conundrum is messy, complicated and not worth bothering with. Replace it with the 'would you you sleep with them?' question and life gets a lot simpler.

Men learnt this centuries ago. You've got to catch up.

Did Xabi come over just for the game ?
I heard he was here to re-sign. Apparently he's become disenchanted with following orders to get himself tactical bookings and playing in a team that gets thumped 5-0. Expect an announcement soon.

Torres' wife giving birth. Celebrating Reina's record. Or something along those lines were my thoughts on it.

A friend of mine suggested that he was scouting for Mourinho. I slapped him. And then wondered who on earth Real would scout from our team this day and age....

Cue: Babel's off to Real come January.

I was present at the birth of my son 30 years ago, but I was only an accountant.

For a top international striker to miss a match just because his wife is having a baby is pathetic nonsense.

No it fucking well isn't.

Your choice not to attend the birth and Torres's choice to attend the birth has fuck all to do with you being an accountant, and him being a top international striker, to the point that I'm so confused about why you thought it in any way relevant to the argument, IU'm almost convinced you must be drunk.

Portly just said he did attend the birth. Maybe you're the one who's pissed?

I can't really tell whether Portly was beeing deliberately controversial or sarcastic, either way it was a strange comment to be honest.

Torres can't do anything to help with his child's birth. The gynaecologists, nurses and midwives are there to attend to it. It's just massive self-indulgence to neglect your job in that way.

No, other than giving his wife emotional support and maybe actually wanting to be present at the birth of the child he's a useless mofo. Don't see why work comes before your family especially for a birth. Are you being serious Portly or are you having a whoosh at us ?

I wouldn't dream of having a whoosh at anybody, Sunny! 😉

It's only in recent years that everybody has suddenly decided that it is terribly important for a father to attend the birth. When I did so 30 years ago, it had only just come in, and there was a certain frostiness towards me from some of the medical staff who clearly didn't approve.

Before then, fathers kept well away and I think that was probably the best way. 🙂

Ah, OK. So, then get with the times, man 😉. I wouldn't miss my kid's birth for the world myself. And the worlds changed a lot as you know

Some people were calling black kids "darkie" and "chalky" thirty years ago.

I'm fairly sure that, in many ways, societal norms have moved on since then, and in many ways for the better.

torres should have followed digger's example. now THAT is a fan ;D
Yeah, but it was Nando's second child. Digger's got about 40 kids, hasn't he? Anyone would be blasé after that many.
