Would play Sterling up with Balotelli. Not ideal but Sterling's pace and movement would give us something we're missing without Sturridge.
This is really really really shitty news though.

Had a quick look at the bibs to see if maybe Lucas was worth throwing into the fantasy football team as a cheapo, bibs defo mean fuck all this week.

He'd be the 5th man / sub of the midfield, it's currently Bentaleb who does fuck all. Wanyama and Lucas are same price or cheaper.
 
Sick. I felt our season hinged on his return. I'd push Gerrard forward and play him off Balotelli. Can't be arsed watching Mario up top on his own.
 
If there could be one glimmer of a silver lining of Sturridge's injury, it'll be that it forces a Rodgers hand to play Gerrard upfield.

What like he's has done throughout his previous injury? Forces his hand my arse. He will just carry on as before.
 
Nah, not with Allen back. He'll go for the diamond hopefully. Though I've seen a few people say it looks like a 4-2-3-1 on Sunday judging by the team that is doing the rounds. Means fuck all mind.
 
It could well be 4-2-3-1, there have been several strong indications that Rodgers is trying to transition to this system from his previously favored 4-3-3.
 
I'm not sure that's the right direction to take with the players we currently have. I'd prefer him to stick with a diamond, not least because I reckon we need two up front from the present squad. What do others think?
 
Mario really needs to up his game now in the extended absence of studge, maybe he can do it against QPR but he needs someone upfront with him if it's Sterls or Borini I don't know.
 
Mental preparation will be all in this contest. QPR are a club in crisis with a manager whose job is precarious, they will not lack for motivation - what better way to calm nerves than to knock over one of the big boys!

They will be in our faces from the off and we need a fast start. It will be important we are tidy in possession and frustrate the opposition. We really need to be ruthless up front and I hope we play Gerrard forward to help Balotelli's confidence.
 
Yep, QPR scoring first will be massive for them. If they concede first its easy to slip back into uncertainty.

I expect Rio, Green and Kranjcar to have their game of the season today.
