You still sore about the christmas Carroll pun you had lined up?

Bitter beyond belief - even the joy of finally being able to change my avatar after Stewie D scored his first league goal could not console me.

Twitter is just a playground for mental fuckwits who should be locked up somewhere.
Didi was tweeting something about Liverpool the other day and got the same treatment from a blueshite fan.
Insane.

Quite an achievement for Rossiter to appear in this at 15. Could well be the youngest player in the whole tournament.

What's going on with the number of Jorda(o)ns popping up at the club these couple of seasons?

Jordan Henderson
Jordon Ibe
Jordan Rossiter

I think we need to go scout for a Jordon Jordan.

We gonna cross the River Jordan into our promise land!!!!! Alleluia.

It was excellent that he came on and played a corker of a throughball for Yesil with virtually his first touch. I thought he wasn't going to get a chance to do anything with only a couple of mins to go but he was on and boom.

Jordan Lussey is another very promising midfielder, plays for the u18s.

Oh yeah forgot about Lussey. And weren't we linked with Jordan Rhodes before he went to Blackburn?

We definitely should try and get all these guys on the field all at once in a pre-season game.

I remember when I was at school there was a boy in the year below called Jordan, and my mother reacted to the news like Peter Kay's dad to the discovery of garlic bread: 'Jordan? Jordan???? That's his first name? Ooooh no, no. That's a RIVER, not a christian name. No.'

Such innocent times.

After his "S" team, Rodgers' next team will be the J's.

.............................. J-Reina.................................
J-Flanno .. J-Alexander? .. J-Sokolik .. J-Enrique
....................J-Dunn........... J-Lussey...................
................................J-Allen..................................
.............JF-Suso...J-Sinclair...J-Ibe.....................

We can even field a team of J-reserves: J-Stephens, J-Robinson, J-Henderson, J-Rossiter, J-MaGuire, J-"Nacho", JC-Texeira, J-Shelvey, J-Spearing (if not sold)...

I also just found out we have a "Michael Jordan Williams" in the U-16s as well.... I think?

Hey!! Is Luis' middle name J?

It's "A" - Luis Alberto Suarez Diaz.

Can't cheat - the "J" team has to have first names starting with "J". Even Messi can't get near this team. Joe Cole can though, if only he hadn't been sold.

So do any of these lads stand out the way Sterling did last season?

Ibe stands out in very much the same way (degree of stand-outishness and style). He's very much in the Sterling mould with added power.

Pelosi's a slow burner on a consistent upward curve but needs to improve again to force himself into contention.

McLaughlin's got a bit of Rob Jones about him for me, should be ahead of Flanno/Robinson in the pecking order despite his age.

Coady's taken his time to shine again but looked excellent the other night (a possible apprentice DM to Lucas?)

Sinclair is finding the step up difficult at the moment and looks every bit the raw 16 year old talent he is - long way to go.

I think that's a bit harsh on Sinclair, who's nearly a year younger than Sterling was this time last year. He's been doing fine for the u18s, and was playing out of position the other night.

I agree. Sinclair started the season as the completely standout player. For me he is still the big hope from that generation of players despite the quality of Ibe and the rest. He's a natural goalscorer.

It maybe sounded more critical than intended. The lad is 16, he's bound to be raw. Maybe I just think he's further off making the step up than is generally thought. Again, he's plenty of time on his side, he's got real talent.

Yeah, the thing is, at that age players are going to have even more ups and downs than senior players, so there'll always be a temptation to worry that certain ones aren't progressing as hoped. Ultimately though it's always the same ones who keep floating back to prominence - even Sterling was struggling a bit with the reserves this time last year. In terms of sheer talent there's no-one ahead of Sinclair, and there's just a small number who have a similar chance of making it to the first team: Ibe, McLaughlin, maybe Dunn, and from the younger players, Rossiter, Brewitt, and Ojo are all very highly regarded. They're the absolute cream of the youth teams.

I really like Dunn. I liked what I saw in the streams I could catch, and when I saw him in Singapore for the NextLions Cup, I thought he looked good - for me, he stood out as he just seems to project his authority on the pitch. His progress has been disrupted by a couple of injuries I think. I hope he's over them now and continues to develop well, and gets the chance to go for the next pre-season trip with the seniors.

Yes, fingers crossed he now gets an injury-free run because, as you say, he's a very good prospect.
