Fucking hell, have we not had a single decent left-sided attacking player in the last ten years? Or am I forgetting someone ace? Is Lil' Luis the best we can do? And Lil' Yossi for the right?

I would probably take Hamann at his peak over Mascher, but a Didi-Xabi CM partnership would be slower than a glacier.

And yes, I know Owen should be in there on footballing merit, but I wouldn't pick that twat if everyone else had only one leg.
 
I'd pick the defence which finished the Treble season en masse - Babbel at RB, H and H as the twin towers at CB and Carra (who has to be in somewhere) as a far better LB defensively than JAR ever was. I'm as big a Mascher fan as anybody here, but we'd be lacking invention from CM if we played both him and Didi, and of the two the Kaiser has to shade it IMO. Up front it has to be Torres with Gerrard behind, though Owen (and I hate to say it) is unlucky not to get in.

Berger is a good shout - I'd completely forgotten about him. Again, though, he didn't play that much under Houllier did he?

Gerrard on the right is one solution, I suppose, but it feels wrong, especially as he's easily the best second striker we've had this decade.

And as I said before, a Didi-Xabi partnership would just be too damn slow - especially with Carra and Hyypia behind them.
 
I don't see the point in getting bogged down in tactical limitations in threads like this. It's not like they're ever facing any opposition, and is simply a small honourable position.

Probably right about Fowler, in which case it has to be Owen, although I wish it wasn't. And Gerrard has to be right, simply because the options out wide are so pathetic, whilst they're quite strong at CM.

Yossi in team of the decade because of 12 months of good form? No chance. And certainly not at the expense of either Hamann or Xabi.
 
Don't agree about Yossi. He also had a good career before joining us, and he was never as bad as Brendan said even before the last 12 months.

Who gets in your team at CM instead of Gerrard then?
 
So Cisse should be included because he was shit hot for Auxure?
