Like Avmenon has said, the crux of the issue boils down to whether there is a legally binding agreement between NESV and the Board.
If Mills Financial are hedge fund investors, I doubt it'd be foolish enough to throw money at Hicks on the back of yesterday's High Court ruling, without that issue being resolved.
Because, IF they have bought Hicks out and IF the NESV sale agreement is subsequently ratified, then it would have only thrown millions at Hicks with no football club to show for. Given that Hicks is a bankrupt and the queue of his creditors is likely to stretch across the country, Mills prospects of recovering their investment in full would also be bleak. I can't see them exposing themselves to this kind of risk.
Of course, if they had taken over Hick's shares at a low low price then it may just be plausible... but the Fat Texan is a greedy twat, so I doubt it.

That's been key all along, and the answer to the persistent worries of a few on here about Hicks refinancing. Even high-risk investors like these people do actually want their money back, preferably before the next Ice Age.

but there is also danger of mill wanting to cash in on a potential bidding war.

That's even more speculative than the idea of Hicks paying his debts.
I'll say one thing for you, neil - your ingenuity in dreaming up disaster scenarios is extraordinary.
